My husband ordered the Mayan fish fillet. It was small portion and very mediocre. We ordered my son spareribs and we're not sure exactly what they were, but they were definitely not spareribs. Very chilly and gristly. I had bacon wrapped shrimp and it was ok, but not great. I think we could have dealt with it, except, it ended up costing $80 American dollars with tip!! And we only ordered a coke and lime juice for drinks- no alcohol that would have added to the price. We're surprised that this place received such high reviews. People must go for the drinks or were too drunk to remember how the meal really tasted. There are MUCH better places to eat on the island for less- save yourself the trip to Caramba

We've only been to San Pedro twice, once for our 5th anniversary and now for our 10th and my husband claims Carumba's is the best restaurant in the world. He can't stop talking about the stone crabs. We got panty rippers and Lighthouse to drink and split Conch Fritters and Stone Crabs. It is a little expensive, but for seafoood, it is the best you can get! The conch fritters were tasty with big hunks of conch in them-they were so heavy, I got full fast. The stone crabs were steamed, a large portion with the tools to get the meat. Just tender, buttery, juicy, served with a pot of drawn butter heated with a candle. Drinks were good, service was efficient. We didn't get a bunch of extra stuff, just spent the money on what we were after. We were too full for dessert. It is nice and cool inside the restaurant and the bar has everything you could want.

Carumba's has the best stewed chicken rice & beans for sure. If you do not get there by 12:30PM they are gone, because they are so good. It is the traditional dish of San Pedro people.
Don't forget to get the Flan for dessert,it is ummy.
