“Best Belizean Food in San Pedro!”
Reviewed May 20, 2014

Mmm, where to start, everything is soo good! My fave: White rice, with stewed beans and whole fried fish! It's good! Fogon is definitely the right place to go if your looking for authentic Belizean food! It's a few steps out of town and doesn't really offer much for view but trust me the food cooked on a traditional fogon definatley makes up!

“Conch Ceviche”
Reviewed May 19, 2014

Stopped in for a light lunch and shared their Conch Ceviche... Very tasty! The Belikins were ice cold and the menu had many interesting offerings.

“I Ate the Royal Rat!”
Reviewed May 19, 2014

Like most Belizian restaurants, the atmosphere is very casual.

My wife had a traditional dish of stewed chicken with rice and beans and a tasty beverage. She loved the chicken and rice and raved about the drink.

I had the Gibnut (Royal Rat) with rice and beans. Delicious. Has a taste all its own and there's really nothing I can compare it to that most people would find familiar. The Gibnut does have bones so if your wanting boneless, go with the chicken or pork. I also had a Mango/Ginger Mohito that was a perfect complement to the meal on a hot day.

Enjoy!

“A new find in San Pedro”
Reviewed May 16, 2014

Although this was my seventh trip to San Pedro, this was the first time I ate at El Fogon. After finding the restaurant, i ate there several times. What a great meal! Lunch includes traditional Mayan food prepared over an outdoor grill, including gibnut. Dinner includes a lot of fresh seafood. The frozen Key Lime Pie is the best thing on the menus so eat accordingly. Can't wait to get back.
