“Share a burger and a story”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

These guys are great.... but if you buy the burgers, you need to share. Pulled pork is super too. Bartenders and atmosphere very unusual- lounge on tubes in the water, they will lower a bucket of iced beer from the 2nd level above. Quiet waters offer lots of opportunity to see marine life. NICE!

Was great, good drinks and atmosphere. The food looked real good although we didn't partake. A must do!

“Nice dry view and good food on rainy day”
Reviewed December 12, 2013 via mobile

We stopped by while riding our bikes back from town in the rain. Had the fish and the shrimp tacos for lunch. They were fresh and tasty. Despite the fact that we were almost the sole patrons around noon on a rainy Thursday, the preparation took a long time--at least a half hour--for which we were actually grateful since the rain was pouring down hard. There was a lot of reading material to keep us busy--all over the walls, ceiling, floor, and chairs and bar! Practically everyone who has visited seems to have left some sort of memento. Schools of fish are visible from the lower floor and presumably from the water if you take advantage of the ability to dine from one of the tubes on a nice day.

“Fun Bar”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

Drove here on our cart from the other side of the island. Nice drive over and worth finding. Went for lunch, food was ok, what you would expect for a bar of this type. Good drinks and a fun crowd. Would recommend a visit.

“Great location for afternoon cocktails”
Reviewed December 9, 2013

We stumbled upon the Palapa Bar & Grill during our last afternoon on the island when we had rented a golf cart to toodle around and see the sights. The deck upstairs is where it's all happening. It's a beachfront bar where visitors can staple their local t-shirts or funny signs on the thatched ceiling. The staff has black markers for guests to leave personal graffiti behind. We didn't eat any food there, so our experience was cocktails at the beach. Definitely a relaxing way to spend an afternoon and worth a golf cart ride to visit.
