I had heard and read about this place so we wanted to stop in and see what was going on. Truly, a "no frills" spot. We all tried the fish tacos, trust me, you don't go here for the food as they were just "ok". The draw here is just "hanging out" drinking with friends and chatting with new people and locals. It's all fun, but it's just a shack at the end of the pier. Tubes for floating in, didn't look great and the water around the Bar, not so clean, bathrooms, a disaster but again, it's a novelty, something totally different and worth a stop in for a drink. Bartender was a really nice guy, Rony, totally professional and very friendly.

Interesting spot to have a few beers, but we made the mistake of ordering food - which arrived cold, was very greasy and not cheap. Worth checking out for the tubes but would leave it for a day when you really have nothing else to do.

It's 2.8 miles up from where we stayed in Ramons Village. We walked up the beach most of the way other than crossing the bridge. You see the bar around 50 meters into the sea and it a good photo. The bar is fun and wasn't too busy when we went for drinks at lunch. We didn't plan to eat but once we saw what others were enjoying we were hooked. Mixed menus of American and Belize. Had the wings and some huge onion rings the were good. Ended up staying for a few hours as its really relaxed and has good views out to the reef. From the bar we could see rays and various fishes around the pier. Didn't get to float in the rings as that area was a little busy. Take a pen or sticker as you can leave your mark on the places some even etched into the wood.

I didn't eat there, but I did grab a Panty Ripa (or Ripper, if you aren't in Jamaica) and get into the water to bob on an inner tube. The drink was the best drink I've had, the view up the beach of the palms and blue water was tranquil, and I wondered where I'd ever recreate that experience?

We stopped by the Palapa Bar, because we were told that you must stop here while in San Pedro. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the location is great! It is just a few minutes north of San Pedro (by bike) and you are out over the water about 100 meters from shore. This place is very unique in that you can sign your name and a quote on just about any location you can find - also you can grab an inner-tube out front and float while drinking delicious concoctions (delivered by a bucket on a rope & pulley)! We didn't eat any food here, because we weren't hungry - but they have Lots of fun signs and quotes that you could spend a whole (happy) hour reading. When we were there, the owners introduced themselves and we really enjoyed talking to them! I can't recall their names, but they were very nice & laid back and we felt like old friends coming for a drink!
