Description: Yo-ho Rojo! Coming into our 12th season, Rojo Beach Bar is still the casual kind of place a beach bar ought to be. 3 gorgeous acres and hundreds of feet of beachfront with great snorkeling so don't forget your bathing suits and masks! Food is ordered AT THE BEACH BAR or by the runner outside the bar (there are NO waitstaff). Reason being is we are small and we don't get too crowded...a plus for you! So, we prefer to under promise and over deliver! If it's a typical day, you will be served and our staff is great! If it gets REALLY busy, we might be short-handed behind the bar, in which case you might not have a dedicated "runner/sever." Dishes are served family style, one or two at a time, with the idea that they're going to be shared over frosty drinks and lively conversation. There are no "appetizers" or "mains" per se, just tasty food. Our staff is small and everything is made from scratch. Sometimes this translates into a bit of a wait. If you are waiting for food, we suggest you enjoy a cocktail. If you are waiting for a cocktail, we suggest you relax and enjoy the view! Pet the dogs. Play some games. Happy Hour DAILY from 3pm - 5pm! And QUALITY sushi on Saturdays!

“Rojo Beach Bar - Ambergris Caye”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

Great setting and ambiance 5 mile North of San Pedro. Walk to it on the beach or drive to in golf cart. Reasonable prices and some very unique gourmet items on menu. Pizza was excellent.

“Best Pizza and Martini...Ever”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

My sis-in-law took the water taxi to Rojo Thursday night. On the boat there was a very nice couple that lived next to Rojo who gave us the advice to order the Key Lime Pie martini and a pizza with half Lobster Bacon (but with shrimp since it is not lobster season) and half pizza of our choice... so we did just that. We arrive at Rojo and there were 3 other couples eating at the bar. We were greeted by Findley and ordered the recommended martinis. The other bartender, Danny, arrived and got to work on the beverages...oh my, they were prepared perfectly, even with the graham cracker rim...not too sweet, not too sour, not too strong, just the perfectly blended cocktail.
In March I had tried the Cheesy Chaya (sp?) Dip appetizer and it was awesome, so we had to get that one again. It is made with their local spinach that they grow on site and blended with 4 cheeses...my sister in law is not big on spinach but I convinced her it tastes different, not too spinachy even though it come out pretty green. Needless to say, she loved it.
On to the pizza... we ordered half veggie and half shrimp and bacon. Out of this world. I am from NY and sis is from NJ, so we are pretty critical of pizza. We agree that this is on the list of best pizzas ever. The toppings were fantastic, but the crust was what made it something to write home about. The crust was thin and crispy but not too dry and perfectly chewy...and full of flavor. I do not know how they do it but please, please don't stop so I can come here every visit to Belize and order it again. We only ordered the 2 items but we had half of each to bring home. The portions are big. The last visit we ordered the ceviche, it was incredible and enormous...but would need more people to order that much food!
And I have to give one final shout out to the bartenders. Findley and Danny (a.k.a. Papi-ton?), thank you so much for a wonderful evening! The water taxi wasn't going to pick us up until 9:30pm...having arrived at 7, this was a long time at the bar and these guys kept us laughing and having a good time.
Rojo is definitely worth the trip up north...next time I am going to get an extra pizza to go.

“Too fun!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

The bartender Fin is such a kick - you gotta go just to meet him! He had us laughing and reveling in no time. The food and drinks (he recommended) were tasty and he adjusted the drinks to our taste. And thanks to the 2 other couples at the bar who bought us drinks for our honeymoon! A super friendly experience!

“A fabulous island bar!!!”
Reviewed April 7, 2013 via mobile

We took our golf cart (30 minutes) from the Grand Caribe to this great island bar. What a pleasant surprise. We had lunch and drinks which were great and the bartenders were super friendly. The atmosphere was awesome. A little pricey but definitely worth the visit.
