I arranged and led a group of 11 divers. I've been to Ambergris Caye several times and have stayed both in town and several miles outside of town. Each has its own attraction.

From the initial communication with Mark to our final checkout, things went very smoothly. The 3 bedroom condos were fabulous and it was a special bonus to have the washer/dryer in the unit. It's very difficult to travel with both dive gear and enough clothes for a week.

The condos and grounds were lovely, the people taking care of the rooms day to day were fabulous and the security staff and front desk staff were amazing as well.

I can't think of anything I would change about the stay. They are convenient to everything in town. It is a challenge to house groups and keep them all happy. I believe The Phoenix was successful.

Don't hesitate to stay at The Phoenix if you want a very nice resort in the heart of town. You won't be disappointed.

We had the three bedroom unit you see on the website. It's just wonderful! They were able to give us two king beds and one room with two twins for the kiddos. They are so close to all the fun things in town, restaurants, a wonderful chocolate store, bakery and meat store. I was so surprised by all you could find on the island. I needed a round brush to do my hair and found at a store within walking distance. That is what I love about The Pheonix, we walked everywhere. The pool, spa and restaurant at the hotel are all wonderful. Three of us had massages and they were all great! Highly recommend. I would also recommend Belize Pro Divers for your Dive company. Ask for Ian and tell them I referred you. He's awesome. Hoi Chan was a great reserve! Have fun!

Room Tip: B4 was the 3 bedroom condo that was so great! Second floor with pool and ocean view. Yay!!

I'm not even sure where to start because everything about The Phoenix was just phenomenal. We booked a 4 night stay here after spending 3 nights in another hotel in San Pedro that we were not happy with. The Phoenix welcomed us with open arms and greeted us with a refreshing cool towel and complimentary rum beverage upon arrival. A staff member gave us a tour of the property and a tour of our 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite, which had a personalized welcome card and gifted bottle of rum for us. The condo was AMAZING -- beautifully decorated, fully furnished, very clean, and a great view of both the pool and the ocean. We dined at Red Ginger (the on site restaurant) twice for dinner and once for breakfast (via room service). The food was delicious all three times, and they even had a special on Mondays where you could get half price bottles of wine. There is a very large leisure pool as well as a lap pool, which are both beautiful. There is nothing better than relaxing in the pool while gazing at the Caribbean and sipping a mojito! Unfortunately, we never got a chance to check out the spa, but I'm sure it is great, as well. One other excellent aspect of this resort is that they will book day tours and excursions for you. My husband and I (along with two friends who were not Phoenix guests) booked the trip to the Lamanai Mayan Ruins through the front desk, and the entire process was seamless. They covered our taxi fare to the airport both ways and arranged everything for us -- SO helpful! We definitely plan to return to Belize and stay at The Phoenix. Even though it was one of the more expensive places to stay on the island, for what you get, the price is a steal!

The rooms at The Phoenix have to be some of the best on the island. Loved having a washer/dryer and a huge balcony with an impeccable ocean view. The pool area is also nice, the dirty bananas are delicious, and the staff is friendly.

The location is both a pro and a con...on one hand you can walk to many restaurants...but on the other hand the area is a tad ghetto and it can be a bit noisy (hotel is directly across from the fire station).

Other cons include no beach & the pool area could be a bit noisy with kids running around. This place would be ideal for a family but for a romantic stay, there may be better options on the island. Still...the rooms are probably some of the best you'll find in the $400-$500 price range.

They go all the way. The details are amazing. From when you walk through the door they have a cold towel and a drink ready for you. They even put it in a cup with a lid with a straw for the child we had with us. The grounds and the rooms were immaculate. The staff has been accommodating in every way. They booked our excursion, made our reservations at the restaurants we went to, and booked my flight back to the main land airport. I will be back. This place is truly a gem.

Was here with a group, and I really enjoyed our suite! Upon arrival, they had cold towels and rum punch waiting on us! I was very pleased to find purified water in the kitched for us to drink along with the refridgerator being hooked to purfied water for clean ice! The daily housekeeping was excellent, and people at the front desk were exceptional. Can't get a better location than the Phoenix. Its right on the beach, and within a short walk from MANY shops, piers, and activities. Their pool was beautiful and had great view of the ocean and beach, and had a poolside bar stocked with clean towels. The grounds were immaculate and well taken care of! There are no elevators, but the hotel staff carried our luggage upon check in and check out. I would definatley stay here again!

The Phoenix is a wonderful place to stay in San Pedro. We considered several other resorts that are on the north end of the island. We chose The Phoenix because of its location in San Pedro. It is perfect for those who like to experience the culture, food, and atmosphere of their destination. We rented a golf cart and drove to the north end of the island to check out the other highly rated resorts and found them to be very isolated from San Pedro thus confirming our decision.

The staff and service at The Phoenix are top tier. Prior to our arrival they helped to arrange our snorkeling trip and a Mayan tour both of which were awesome. They gave us excellent restaurant suggestions. Our two bedroom condo was immaculate and exceeded our expectations. The grounds and pool are well kept as well. We will definitely be staying at The Phoenix on our next visit to Belize.
