I would not classify this as a BB. This place is beautiful. Carmelita & Robin were very nice and accomodating; even when we decided to book a last minute snorkel trip. The villas are very well kept. Housekeeping came every morning and even washed the dishes. The only problems (and not really problems) were the entire place shuts down at nine, so if you have the munchies shop in San Pedro during the day and there was soo much sea grass at beach front level, you can get stuck. But believe you me, I will be returning!

I've stayed at Belizean Cove Estates twice this year. I'm very well travelled and this place tops them all. The villa's are immaculate, the staff is great, and the infinity pool is wonderful. I do suggest renting a golf cart for the duration of your stay as you'll want to head into town, which is about a 15 minute golf cart ride away. Too far to walk on a very hot day. That said, you can bike into town and it will take you just about the same amount of time as a gold cart. There are many great restaurants nearby, Capricorn (two minute walk), Captain Morgan's & Casino (two minute walk), Coco Beach (5 minute walk) and more. Belize is simply magical and everyone I take with me is always spellbound my the beautiful water, friendly people, great food, and stress free living. Knowing that at the end of the day you're heading back to Belizean Cove Estates to finish your night off makes it that much better. I would never stay anywhere else on the island after experiencing Belizean Cove. Amazing.

Just returned from 7 days at this beautiful resort. Our group of 4 girls stayed in Villa Solemar and the 3 bedroom, 3 bath unit was more than spacious enough. It was immaculate inside and out, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen very well equipped, and I didn't have a single complaint. The staff was so kind and helpful - Carmelita gave us so many tips to make our trip safe and enjoyable, Francisco spoiled us with flowers and fresh coconuts, and Elisabeth snuck in while we were out everyday to make the mess disappear! We enjoyed riding the bikes into town, but never used the kayaks. The quiet, peaceful, saltwater pool with comfy lounges and lots of shade was just what I needed to relax and unwind. This is not the spot if your looking for a party to join, but the proximity of the sister resorts and the ability to use their facilities if you want a day at a pool bar (we enjoyed a day at Coco Beach) makes it a great balance. I will definitely be going back, next time with my kids!

Room Tip: I loved the downstairs unit with the private pool front balcony for easy access to our own snacks an...

Our family of six adults spent eight days at Belizean Cove Estates over the Christmas Holiday. What a beautiful property!

Accommodations- We stayed in Villa 8 and 8C (three bedroom/three bath) on the 2nd floor. Kitchen was large and contained the basics – knives, utensils, plates, cups, bowls, cooking pans, etc. Fridge wasn’t working upon our arrival and we had had groceries pre-delivered to our condo. After speaking with the front desk, we were able to move our perishables to the downstairs unit which was vacant until our fridge came up to temp (by the following morning). Highly recommend pre-ordering groceries via the property concierge to have in your villa upon arrival. We also ordered an outdoor grill from the concierge which we used all week.

We used the dining room table most everyday (seats six), as well as the family room with TV.

The balcony is accessible via the Master bedroom, living room, and 2nd bedroom. Outdoor space was comfortable, although the balcony railing interferes with the view when seated on the outdoor furniture. TIP: if it rains or the balcony gets wet, the marble flooring becomes very slippery.

The Master bedroom closet contains the safe which we used every day. All bedrooms have closets and dressers which provide ample room for storing luggage and clothing. Daily maid service provides clean towels, clean beach towels, makes beds, sweeps, takes out garbage, and washes dishes (no dishwasher).

Beautiful artwork is hung in every room and is for sale by owner. Bedrooms have alarm clocks and ceiling fans. Bathrooms provide shampoo, conditioner, liquid body soap, hand soap, and sewing kit.

The power did go out many times, but usually for only a minute or two (power comes from Mexico). Only once was it out for over an hour. There are candles in the bathroom vanities and flashlights hanging from the key hook next to the door.

Property - The pool area was empty for most of our stay, but there is plenty of room for all guests to lounge and enjoy the sun. The pool water is extremely COLD, even after having laid in the sun for an hour, the temp was frigid.

There are a few kayaks which belong to the property – just let the front desk know you’d like to use them and they will bring the chairs, paddles, and life vests to the kayaks for you to use.

We also rented two golf carts for our stay which we used to go to San Pedro and dinner a couple nights. There is a toll of $5US round-trip to cross the bridge into San Pedro. The dirt roads are very rough, but fun to navigate – about a 10-15min drive to town. As other reviews note, the bugs are prevalent and you’ll need to bring bug spray. My sister-in-law was adamant about spraying herself every day, but she still ended up with lots of bites.

The island has strong winds which sometimes drove us into the condo from the balcony (but also kept the bugs at bay). Make sure you secure any clothing or towels you hang on your balcony/patio as they WILL fly away.

Most tour companies (Amigos del Mar – diving; Lady Leslie – snorkeling; highly recommend both!) will pick you up at the property dock which is a short walk from the condos. There is foot, bike, and motorcycle traffic along the beach in front of the property, but nothing to complain about. This path allows for easy access to sister properties and other restaurants/bars along the beach – sometimes quicker than using the golf carts.

All staff at Belizean Cove Estates were friendly, gracious, and helpful. Our luggage was delivered to our room upon arrival and picked-up for our departure. Service folks were present and available every day and attended to our needs quickly.

Room Tip: All Villas have the same view, although the 2nd floor may be able to see farther into the horizon...

Beautiful high quality villa with a fantastic view from the top level which was converted to a one bedroom for our stay.
The limitation for us was the pool that is too shallow with 80% of it less than half a metre deep so ornamental only. This is a real shame.
As with all resorts there are an insufficient number of sun loungers and the ground floor have their own personal loungers but none are allocated to the top floor so if the ground floor take one of the 3 other sets available then the top floor miss out.
There are 3 options to get into town, water taxi, golf buggy and bicycle. Water taxis do not come as previous guests mentioned. We wouldn't recommend golf buggies as the road is dirt and full of pot holes ( very unpleasant). Cycling along the beach is the best bet and the hotel has free bikes for use (takes 45 mins to the town centre).
Ar Captain Morgans resort next door (north) there is a small supermarket (at the rear) and Cabana cafe (at the beach) which are both good. The cafe has croissants, banana bread and chocolate cupcakes. It closes at 1pm and as everything is fresh they can run out.
We tried Aji restaurant (terrible) with golf buggy and Capricorn (very good and next door south) and Captain Morgans restaurant (very good and next door north).
The front desk (very helpful) arranged the golf buggy hire and a snorkelling trip to Hol Chan / Shark and Ray alley. Pickup at 2pm for a return at 4:30pm. Plenty of turtles, rays, nurse sharks, lots of colourful fishes (saw a giant parrot fish) and colourful coral. Really good.
All in all a very nice stay but let down by the pool.

Picking a vacation rental based on what you read on websites like this is dicey. How many of the reviews are solicited, how many are from someone just having a bad day, how many are from disgruntled former employees, etc? Can photos be digitally manipulated in order to make a pig look like a swan? If you have traveled quite a bit, you know all too well the disappointment that strikes when the realization hits: "This place is not quite as advertised." Well, you won't be disappointed here. Belizean Cove lived up to all our expectations. This is a vacation rental, so keep in mind that there is no bar or food service on premises. There are a few fair-to-middling bars and cafes along the shore and a short walk from the Estates. Our unit, Villa Solemar, was very well appointed. The furnishings were all first class. Maid service was brisk and efficient. The office people were very helpful. The pool area is great for kids and adults. Maybe because this place is not cheap, we were the only ones there for a good part of the week. There were no kids, but young kids would like it here. Teens might get bored, there being nothing remotely like beach-blanket-bingo. A small convenience store is a short walk away, so you can get the basics like alcohol and juice. We made one big, grand dinner--what a mess of dishes we left for the maids, which they made quick work of--and for the rest of our meals we went to Capricorn or into San Pedro. I do wish there were a restaurant in the same category as the Estates, but one can't get every last wish. One thing I should mention is that as is the case with many resort areas in the tropics, the difference between the resort grounds and the area directly off the resort property is stark. Trash and garbage and a pitted road and children living in painful poverty is the dark side that one can only ignore by not leaving the beach side of the Estates.

I happened upon a "deal" on a week at Belizean Cove Estates when I was searching for a good airline price for air travel from California to Belize. Every October for our anniversary I try to plan a lovely beach escape for hubby and me. So I booked a 2-bedroom villa and researched the area. We normally stay in timeshare resorts with full kitchens and we like to cook in addition to trying local restaurants. Recognizing how far we were from San Pedro I ordered a week's worth of groceries from Lagniappe Provisioning. Everything was beautifully displayed in the villa kitchen when we arrived. I also maintained regular e-mail contact with the manager up until we left California. She gave me advice on the various options for getting from Belize City to the resort from least to most expensive. We chose Tropic Air from Belize International to San Pedro and the Belizean Coves arranged a cab to take our luggage to the Tuff E Nuff docs where a water taxi took us to the resort. Not expensive, and absolutely no hassle. She even e-mailed me a day or 2 before our trip suggesting that we bring raincoats because they'd been having some rain. Since it was off season, we were the only guests, so we had Villa Marbella all to ourselves. We paid for 2 bedrooms and got 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. The property is secluded but was just what we needed to get away for a romantic week. We bought the $30 week pass for the water taxi and took it to San Pedro every day to walk, shop, and see the sights. When we arrived the groundskeeper, Gato and manager, Carmelita met us at the dock. He took our luggage and she showed us to our villa. Amazing tropical punch was cool and waiting for us in a pitcher. She asked if we wanted rum, and added rum to our taste. We enjoyed the private jacuzzi on our patio. The groundskeeper, Gato, brought a barbecue up so we could cook steak and shrimp. The housekeeper cleaned the full villa daily and did all the dishes, so I could enjoy cooking, but didn't have to do the clean up. There are bikes and kayaks to use at no cost. If you choose, you can ride a bike to town. We didn't do that, but did use the kayaks. The groundskeeper got the kayak ready for us with life preserver and paddles when we were ready to use it. The interior of the villas is beautiful and views of the ocean from all the windows was amazing. You can also rent one of their golf carts and take it to town, but the water taxi was more fun, we thought. I was a little surprised that for a 3-bedroom villa there was only one television. It was an excellent flat screen with tons of channels, but hubby and I like to watch different television at night and we are accustomed to staying in accommodations with two or 3 TVs. It did give us more together time, though, which is a good thing. I was still in school and needed online access to the computer every day and the internet worked flawlessly. With no other guests and the staff catering to our every need, we felt like we were in our own private beach home. It was an amazing vacation. Snorkeling was incredible, weather was great, and people were awesome. I plan to return again next year at about the same time. Why hassle with the crowds? And yes, some restaurants in San Pedro and Caye Caulker were shut down for off season, but it was no great loss. We enjoyed eating in the villa as well as at local foods in San Pedro and Caye Caulker. This place is amazing.
