We came to Coco Beach for a few days in mid-May and had a wonderful experience! Our room overlooked the pool at the back and was not noisy at all. The room was nicely appointed and everything at the hotel was clean. I loved how many places you could swim in the pools, because the beach had a fair bit of sea grass...although I hear if you take a day trip to Xtan Ha the water is perfect! We didn't make it out, but the pool was great for us. Service was wonderful, drinks and bar food were pretty good. The main restaurant seemed overpriced and didn't fit with the vibe of the rest of the hotel. We had great food in town and at the restaurant on the adjacent property. We would stay here again.

We booked Coco Beach from pictures on the internet, and they do not do the place justice.
The grounds are manicured with rakes by staff every morning, (they rake the beach also).
I was quite impressed.
We stopped by several other resorts and we liked the tropical feel of this one best, the rooms were very nicely appointed, clean and had a fridge, coffee pot, hair dryer and microwave.
There is a restaurant open on the grounds, and I was unprepared for how nice it is inside, it is impressive in its finish out, but sadly, the food is not great. It is however ok if you dont feel like walking next door to Captain Morgans, which is not nearly as nice, but has great food. We went to eat there three times in 4 days. There is no air conditioning at Captain Morgans resturant. Ask for a fan.
The restaurant at Coco Beach does have A/C. The restaurant at their sister property up the beach, does not have A/C. Its on the top floor and it is very hot, to the point that it is uncomfortable. We solved this by eating lunch at the swim up bar at the pool.

The beach is really a lagoon, the barrier reef keeps the waves from comming up, so the water is a little staganant. It is full of vegitation and very shallow off the beach, not really suitable for swimming. It is however, crystal clear and deep aqua in color, just beautiful.
I highly recommend the snorkleing. It is world class, no real need to scuba dive, the reef is really shallow and only about a half mile out. No worries about motion sickness as you can see the shoreline at all times.

San Pedro is very poor. Lots of poverty, some dive shops, tourist traps with tee shirts etc. Not much there, but interesting. We rented a golf cart, and drove down the back road, and i use the term road very loosley. Its packed gravel, chocked with potholes along most of it, but you can see a lot of the island that you would miss with out traveling it.

Take Deep Woods Off or bug spray, the mosqitioes will eat you for lunch and dinner. It is very expensive in Belise for good reason. The front desk had some for us to use, but in case they run out, you better have a spare can.

This was a wonderful place to stay, current Belize exchange rates were 2 Belize Dollars to One American.

Room Tip: No elevators, so if stairs are a problem, get a room on the bottom floor so you can walk right out t...

We recently went to Coco Beach Resort for a destination wedding. We spent a week at Coco Beach Resort and had a wonderful trip. They treated us like kings! The staff was very responsive to our every need. Thanks to room cleaner Betsy for doing a great job as well as to pool guy Larry who greeted us everyday with a smile and a kind word.

We rented one of their casitas by the pool. Loved it!!

Coco Beach resort should be on your short list when considering a place to stay in Belize!

We just recently stayed at Coco Beach May 29th- June 6th and loved every minute of our stay. When we arrived we were greeted at the dock by and given a quick tour of the property. We then checked in and were pleasantly surprised by our awaiting Rum Punch and drink for our daughter. We were taken to our Casita and given a plethora of information about the resort and the island which we used throughout our stay. We traveled with our 7 year old daughter who LOVED the pool with the rock formation and water slide. The service at the pool is second to none and I strongly recommend meeting Larry The Pool Guy. He was the most friendly and helpful person and was always there to take care of us. We ran in to Larry in town while he was not working and he was very helpful with directions and information. We also enjoyed Deon at the bar as he was the best bartender we met anywhere down there. We also ran in to him in town and he greeted us by name and helped with our many annoying questions. Shelby the waiter was also an amazing addition to the resort and made us feel at home the entire time. The resort is always spotless, the rooms exceptionally clean, the service is top shelf in every aspect, the pool is always clean and ready to go and the people around the resort are extremely welcoming and helpful. We will return to Coco Beach as soon as possible.

Room Tip: The Casita was very nice due to the full kitchen and the proximity to the pool.

This is my 1st Traveladvisor review but,I had to let everyone know how great Coco Beach Resort is from the moment we arrived we were greeted and even drinks once we got to the resort. We were in room E2 or E4 which overlooked the pool area and it was beautiful. Larry the pool guy is one special man and makes Coco Beach even better with him working there. I will surely return next year and can't wait to get another beach massage!!

We stayed at Coco Beach Resort for 4 nights and it wasn't long enough!! We were greeted and taken care of right from the start. Definitely check out the following restaurants: Aji Tapas (about a 15-20 minute walk from the resort) - definitely walk along the beach! We made the mistake of walking along the road and it was dark, but we had so many friendly people trying to give us a ride in their golf carts. Also, be sure to check out Mambo restaurant (at Matachica Resort), they offer a free boat service to and from dinner from Coco beach. The resort can make reservations for you. We also had the best bartenders EVER (and we travel alot). Definitely loved being served by both Deon and Mac. They made sure the drinks were coming and told us to stop saying "Please" and "Thank you" and to just smile in return. They really made our vacation and we just loved to sit and chat with them. We stayed in the basic hotel room, but it was perfect for us since we had no plans to cook and wanted to spend as much time relaxing by the pool/beach. The room was big and we had a large balcony. Be sure to go snorkeling, its some of the best, and according to the locals its usually better since the water is somewhat choppy that time of the year (we stayed the 2nd week in May). My husband has snorkeled a number of places (Hawaii, Great Barrier Reef, etc) and he says it was still the best snorkeling! Be sure to schedule a massage on the beach through the resort; it was an incredible massage - one of the best I've had! I really can't say enough about the resort and the people; you will not be disappointed if you stay here. We really had a great time celebrating our anniversary a few weeks early. I definitely want to return as soon as possible! Thank you Coco Beach for one of the best vacations ever.

Room Tip: The Hotel Room was perfect; we were on the 2nd floor facing the pool (and the slide). It was not no...

We enjoyed our stay at Coco Beach. Our room was beautiful, and the staff was friendly. When we arrived at the ferry terminal, we were provided with free transportation (via boat) to the hotel, where we were then greeted by the staff and given a tour of the property. The grounds are well-kept, and we enjoyed swimming in both pools. We loved the diving rock/water slide. The swim-up pool bar was one of our favorites, and each day there's a happy hour. The resort was very empty when we were there, as it was the off-season. This was great because we had plenty of space and it was easy to get drinks at the bar but difficult because the bridge to downtown San Pedro was closed (accessible by boat or bike instead), and this area is secluded and poorly lit at night. We walked along the beach to get to restaurants at 7-8 PM and it was dark. The staff will give you a flashlight, but they're not sufficient to see anything except maybe a crab on the ground. The resort's restaurant, Cocoblanca was not good food. My boyfriend enjoyed his entree, but I disliked both my entree (my ahi tuna did not taste fresh) and our dessert (a crepe SOAKED in grand marnier). Also, they had had a wedding a few days before and had run out of many of their dessert options. Worst of all, it's very expensive, considering the quality (25-30 dollars/entree). I had complained to the manager, and he was very nice and offered for us to come back again for a better meal, but after disliking both the entree and dessert, I had had enough. We felt limited with our dinner options for the area and felt that with as nice as the hotel was, the restaurant could've been much better. Overall, I'd recommend the hotel, but I would recommend coming during the busier season when you can grab a cab to a better restaurant.
