“Jamaican Dining”

Buffet night is on Wednesdays. 20.00 US gets you all you can eat at the fumet. Drinks were really good. It had the Dirty Banana frozen drink and my husband had the Extinguisher which tastes like an orange cream sickle . We had garden salad, soup which was conch and very tasty along with jerk shrimp, pork, chicken, with fried potato patties, rice and beans. If you like spicy Jamaican food, this is your spot!

“Lovely 3 meals a day!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Jambel's was right outside our hotel room door a the SunBreeze Suites. We had at least one breakfast lunch and dinner during our stay. The food was very good and we heard from other diners who were staying in other hotels that Jambel's food was better than other hotels! So we met lots of people there too! There is a difference between eating and dining. Eating is for sustenance and for this you go to a fast food joint. Dining is for leisure and pleasure of eating. Jambel's is for dining, breakfast Lunch and dinner. This is not speed eating or speed service but a most pleasurable experience. It is small menu with breakfast staples, french toast, eggs and omelets. The lunch and dinner menu is the same. Skip the burgers and go for their jerk or curried foods! I had the curried chicken twice and both times it was very different but both times wonderfully delicious. We found this to be true over the 4 days we ate there, the dishes would be very different from day to day, and we can say we like one days dish over another but it was all good and pleasing. Jambel's is in the open!
Jambel's is right on the beach!! Just 5 steps down to the sugar sand beach and only 15-18 feet to the waters edge. There are two docks that end right in front and this is where the small fishing boats come in and out. As the boats come in, the fish are expertly cleaned right there on the dock and offal is then tossed to either the gathering in pelicans (the cleaners took great pains NOT to feed the gulls) or large manta rays came up and sucked up the fish parts like underwater vacuums. This was GREAT entertainment and it goes on all day. The fish is fileted and put into in foil pouches with seasoning and veggies and grilled a few steps away then the tourists who caught the fish eat them at Jambel's.
So if you are walking down the beach, stop in for a beer at the very least. It is a wonderful and entertaining place.
One last thing, if you see a cashew vendor, BUY THE CASHEWS!! First off, these are local cashews and are not grown for export. They are not like the kind you get in the can, they are not oily but surprisingly fragrant and moist and delicious. The nuts are harvested by locals and roasted mostly for Beliezeian consumption not export. This is great way to support local farmers AND to discourage the chopping down and burning of land and forest. Buying local cashews is Eco-tourism.

“Good”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

Decided to eat here since it was at the hotel. For starters, we got the combo ceviche and it was good. The kids got the chicken strips for dinner which they ate all of so it must've been good. I had the jalapeno pasta with chicken and it was delicious. The panty rippers were good and so were the raspberry mojitos, however the mojitos were slow to come out. There was live music with a guy and a guitar, which was enjoyable. Good music. Would definitely eat there again.

“Hot! Hotter! Hottest!”

They can jerk the pork or chicken to your taste. Good value on the chicken burger. We ate here several times and would recommend it--especially when they have live music.

“Great spicy jerk, resort prices”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

The jerk chicken her was really great, but much like the other tourist restaurants in San Pedro, the prices were higher than the food value but typical for San Pedro.
