Daniel and Dilson are excellent and professional! They are very knowledgable and safety is their number one concern. We went on two trips with them and would go again tomorrow!

“Can't Say enough”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

We did the Hol Chan Marine Preserve and Shark Alley with Daniel Nunoz, owner of Tanisha Tours. As a guide he is excellent and very knowledgeable about all that we were going to see.
When we arrived at Hol Chan he instructed all what and how all was to go. We even had two people who had never snorkeled before and even one of them could not swim. He made sure all would be safe and actually towed them on the swim ring all through the snorkle area.

The snorkeling was amazing and the reef is beautiful. A MUST DO

Then on the Shark Ray Alley, none wanted to swim with the sharks as on the day we went kinda cool and windy, and we were cold, but Daniel still got 15-20 sharks up to the boat and actually fed them by hand. We got very good pictures and enjoyed that as well.

“Food poisoning: stay away”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

We went to a Lamanai tour with Daniel Nunez who owns and operates Tanisha Tours and Hurricane's bar and restaurant. The tour was nice but next day, in my group of six, we all got sick within 6 hours or so of each other. We ran into another couple that was on the boat on the same tour, and they were both sick.

One of the adults in my group lost consciousness in the bathroom while vomiting and banged his head and had a good gash on the side of his forehead. Another had a fever of 102 Fri night, back to 101.7 on Sat night. I took four of them to a local physician as an emergency visit and all four had intravenous injections of anti-emetics and were put on 4 medications each: antibiotics, anti-emetics, antipyretics, anti-diarrhea. When I was done with all the doctor and pharmacy runs I finally succumbed to fever and chills myself. We have seriously considered cancelling return flights to the US for next morning and looked for places to stay if we would not be able to fly back on Saturday. So it was pretty serious, but fortunately we are all back to normal by now, 6 days later.

We have been coming to Belize since ’06, several times per year. We own properties that we rent, we bring guests and friends. We have taken tours with the other companies before, eaten everything everywhere, and never had these problems before. This is even more concerning when the tour is done by a restaurant owner and operator. Between the tour, the doctor and the pharmacy this cost us around 1000 US dollars, we lost 2 days of vacation and our friends had this illness as their concluding impression of Belize.

I have received a nice apologetic email reply from Tanisha's manager two days after my original email, but my second email was completely ignored. No reply from Mr. Nunez..

“Cave tubing and Cahal Pech”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

It was a great day! We took the boat to the mainland and then drove inland from there. We were a bit worried when the driver had car trouble (overheating) and decided to do the cave tubing first, but after filling the radiator, everything was fine.

Our guide, Roberto, was fabulous. The boys ate termites (!), smelled allspice, touched a tarantula, and then tubed through these wonderful caves. I didn't eat a termite or touch a tarantula, but enjoyed the adventure nonetheless!

We then drove to Cahal Pech which was a fabulous introduction to the Mayan culture (to be followed by an excursion to Lamanai a few days later). Again, Roberto was so knowledgeable and informative.

The boys (19 year olds) loved every minute of it, including the description of the culture, politics, history, border disputes with Guatemala, and general knowledge that our guide imparted on the drive and tours.

I strongly recommend Tanisha Tours!

“Had a great time”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

Tanisha Tours was recommended to us by a friend of ours that has
lived in Belize for the last 20 years.
We went on two tours with Daniel - cave tubing/Belize zoo,
and snorkeling at Hol Chan and Shark Ray alley. We had
a great time on both tours. Daniel was a fantastic guide - he
seemed to have a personal relationship with every creature
at the zoo, he knew the names of every species of plant,
bird, and fish (and whether or not they were adolescent or adults),
and pointed out so many things that we would have never spotted
on our own. His 2 co-guides, Nil and Kinsley were also great
and very helpful. We could not have asked for a better experience -
comfortable transportation (not a cattle car like some of the
other tour boats we saw), great food, and a knowledgeable guide.
And if you have a chance to try the cerviche at Hurricane's,
it is the best we found on the Caye.
