“Best Persian restaurant in Alpharetta”
Reviewed November 1, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Living near Windward pkwy, I've always lamented the lack of quality Persian food unless I was willing to drive out to Roswell Rd. Shiraz has solved the problem. Family run, very friendly customer service, great location (in the Publix complex at Windward / McGinnis Ferry Intersection) and awesome food. I would rate the Beef sheesh kabob a 5/5. Just melts in your mouth. Chciken Kabob is good, but not as great as the beef in my opinion. Appetizers are ok and I'm deducting one start for them. Price is justified considering the quality of food. Will run about $15 a person.

“Dinner for two at Shiraz”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

We had a selection of 3 starters: the Tzaziki, Houmus and Falafals. The falafals were burger shaped and factory produced but not bad tasting. The other two were also shop brought preparations served with pitta bread that had been frozen before being warmed up. Decent enough but nothing special.

Mains were the lamb kebob and chicken marsala. The lamb was tasty and nicely cooked. The chicken lacked flavor and was drowned out by mushrooms. It was served on top of standard grocery-store pasta.

Service was friendly and efficient.

Overall, you get what you pay for. If you're looking for fresh and authentic then spend the money and go elsewhere. If you want a quick and cheap dinner and are not too fussed about quality then Shiraz is fine.

“Wow!”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

My wife and I just happened on Shiraz Cafe. It was lunch time, we were hungary, and we had not had Middle Eastern food for a while. The food was not only good, it was outstanding, as was the service. We ordered three appetizers: Spanakopita (the best we have ever had), Dolmeh (great with a pomegranite sauce, and fried calamari (eqwually as good). What a surprise in a casual, suburban, strip shopping center location. The decor is pleasant and casual. Outside dining is available.
The owners are Persian, and they know what they are doing. Our next visit will be for dinner, even though it is a 25 mile drive from where we live.
A great find. We plan to come again-often.
