“A Terrific Park with a Variety of Animals”

While Albany, Georgia may not be on the top list of cities for the south, they have a very good animal park at Chehaw. A large variety of animals and our 2 year grandson loves to visit it regularly. It was our first time, the grandparents, from Florida and we were extremely impressed with all the park offered in animals in a natural habitat setting. Kids and adults will definitely enjoy it. We live in the Tampa, FL area and found it comparable to Lowry Park Zoo.

“Great Kid's Suumer Camp”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2012

My Grandson went to two different camps, Dinosaur and Nature and keeps asking when he can go back. About 8 - 3 weekdays in June and July. The zoo has come a long way in the last few years. Love those Lemurs!

“Good place to see Gators”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2012

We went to Chehaw because we heard so many wonderful things about it. There was a nice variety of animals but not a great deal to see. (rhinos, kangaroos, cheetahs) A lot of the exhibits were closed off. We literally had the place to ourselves so that was great. It was way over-priced. They need to seriously think about pricing to draw more people in. There is a large pond full of gators that you can get really close to (almost uncomfortably close). Also, the meerkats are adorable. I felt that it was a nice natural setting, not overly landscaped and kept more in its natural state. There is a lot they could do to make this park more inviting and interesting.

Great for kids and families. We went off season in the afternoon on a Friday. It was very quiet and peaceful. Good variety of animals. We will revisit!
