I like the fish and grits but the fish needs to be seasoned. However, my friends tasted it and liked the fish as is. I love their hushpuppies and the ribs are delicious. We went on Saturday and went back on Sunday, they have a sunday dinner menu. You can't go wrong here. There is something for everyone.

Wanted seafood and we landed at Blackbeards. Menu a bit confusing and a lot more expensive than before. Had to ask how to get smaller portions than AYCE Trout and Mullet. Waiter was very good when we asked questions, but we had to ask.

When ordering over the phone, you will never get what you ordered. You take the food back and let them know, and tell them what you ordred again, they will still give you the wrong order. I have eaten at blackbeards many times, but I have never had to deal with something like this. There are a lot of new faces, and must be new cooks too, because the food is not as good as it use to be.

Our family has been going to Blackbeard's since the mid 80's and have always looked forward to next time. Buddy Purvis was a RAM supporter and greated everyone as a long time friend. Food was excellent, cooked to perfection and priced right, and there was always a crowd there. Well we returned a couple a couple days ago to new people, new owners and NEW MENUS. The menu now leans more to the bar b q side, rather than the sea food. The pork was dried out, the oysters tasted old, the tea was tainted. There was NOT a crowd. There were more servers than customers. Blackbeards new owners have changed everything else, should change the name also, so we would not think we were in for the great meal it use to be. Go to Harvest Moon on Dawson Road instead.

I took my family to Blackbeard after church service on July 15, 2012. We enjoyed the dressing, baked chicken, sweet potatoe, okra, and green beans. We ate all of our food. The attitude of the waitress was very caring. She several times was everything okay.
