Please send us an e-mail or call 770.773.7480. The 19th century farmhouse, now known as the Rice House restaurant, serves as the historical cornerstone on the north lawn of the resort. Meticulously dismantled on the original Rice Plantation in nearby Rome, Georgia before it was carefully relocated and resurrected at Barnsley Resort, our culinary team pays homage to the home's Southern heritage. Our chefs rely on locally farm-grazed cattle and garden-grown produce (inquire about what is grown here at the resort) as well as taking inspiration from what is in the moment and unexpected in his interpretation of modern farmhouse cuisine. The Sun Porch and two small private dining rooms are perfect for guests wishing to entertain friends or colleagues.

While the menu was limited, the taste was endless! I will admit, I wasn't too thrilled when I first looked at the menu, nothing 100% appealed to me (I wanted to switch the sides with the main course, etc). But deciding to trust the chef (he's the expert), I was not disappointed! Everything was simply wonderful!

“Service is terrible, food is not bad”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

We had to go looking for our server to get our water glasses refilled. When new water bottles were brought out, they were lukewarm. Ew. When we had completed our meal, we wanted dessert. Again we had to go looking for our server. I was too upset to eat dessert, so we left.
The food wasn't bad. The watermelon salad appetizer was creative and delicious!

“Worth the Go For if you are a Guest of the Resort”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

I probably would not recommend driving all the way up from Atlanta for Rice, but, if you are a guest of the resort it is certainly a lovely chance to dress up (if you want--not required) for a lovely romantic dinner. The food and service was excellent. The two entree portions we ordered were a bit sparse which I suppose one might argue, left room for dessert. The special duck "3 way" entree is superbly prepared but absolutely needs to have a side salad ordered on the side with it if you are hungry. On this entree you are paying for the quality and NOT the quantity for the price. Overall it was a very pleasant experience but I probably wouldn't "write home to Mom about it". It served the resort well and complimented our stay, giving us variety of restaurant choices while staying in the resort.
