“What a find in Adairsville, GA”

I would never have found this place on my own or even considered staying here. Some friends suggested that we meet here for a couple of nights since we were all coming from Atlanta. The staff is extremely helpful and accommodating. The cottage was large and had a lot of amenities. I was very relieved to find that the air conditioning was first rate. The food was well prepared, and the portions were generous. Very nice wine list too. The Spa is very comfortable, and I had a first rate massage. The golf course is beautiful and challenging. The only disappointment in the whole experience was the Beer Garden not being open. It has a limited schedule, which is too bad because it is a very nice outdoor space, and the staff really know about beer. If the occasion presented itself, I would certainly stay here again.

The resort is beautiful, the staff is very friendly, and the food is very good. We loved staying in the 1 bedroom cottage. There are many things for kids to do, and we had a great time. Also we loved walking around the property, the ruins and gardens are beautiful.

Wonderful resort about 1 1/2 north of Atlanta, well worth making the trip for. The welcome was warm, service impeccable and the accommodation perfect. The cottage was well furnished and there was lots of room to relax.
The cottages/houses and grounds are pretty and all in keeping with the original estate and The Ruins. The web site doesn't do the place justice.
Food was delicious; we ate at the Rice House, the Woodlands Grill and the Beer Gardens (the selection was worthy of any ale aficionado) - all great in their own way. We swam by day and at night sat by the fire pits.
No time to use the golf course but it looked in fabulous condition. Parked the car and simply relaxed. Delightful.

Room Tip: We had a cottage and loved having the sitting room.

Stayed for a long weekend in May for a friend's birthday celebration. The property is beautiful and the accommodations very nice. Service is excellent, pool and spa are awesome. I didn't play golf but those who did, said the course was great. The grounds are beautiful. At night they will light the fire pits in front of your cottage for roasting marshmallows or just to enjoy the evening. Great getaway and can't wait to return.

Just returned from a one-night trip to Barnsley Resort and had a lovely time. The grounds are beautiful, rooms are charming and comfortable. My only suggestion regarding our room was in the bathroom area - the shower of our particular unit looked a bit worn and could stand some updating, but wasn't off-putting. Pool was wonderful and we had no complaints about the dining options either! All meals were great. Would definitely recommend as a one or two day getaway for families, couples or for a girls' trip. Loved the fire pits dotting the lawn and the bocce courts behind the beer garden. However, if you have any special needs at all I'd also recommend making arrangements in advance to ensure a smooth trip. We stayed on a Sunday night so I assumed it wouldn't be a problem for us to make reservations for dinner, spa, etc upon arrival. I'm nearly 9 months pregnant and walking the grounds was difficult. When we tried to rent a golf cart on Monday morning we were told they didn't have any to lend because the course was completely booked that day. We asked for a wheelchair, they didn't have any. They did offer to have a staff member drop us off wherever we wanted to go on the grounds, and this turned into our own personal tour. Thanks to this staff member we had a great experience, but would have still preferred to have our own cart considering we had a toddler in tow. I was similarly told that the spa was completely booked when I tried to make appointments Sunday evening for the following day, and when we went to dinner Sunday we were told the only reason we got a table was because a large group had showed up early - otherwise they were completely booked for the night. Only wish we would've made certain arrangements in advance, but otherwise had a very nice trip.

I just returned from spending two nights at Barnsley Gardens Resort located about one hour north of Atlanta. The resort consists of dozens of lovely cottages laid out like a small city. Park your car and leave it as the resort is easy to cover by walking. It is a first class, beautiful place. I stayed in one of the individual rooms in the "Manor House." It was exceptionally well appointed and comfortable. I enjoyed coffee and a paper on my private deck each morning.I dined at "The Woodlands Grill", which was excellent. Although the main draw for the resort is golf, there is also a beautiful pool, spa, and trails for hiking. While the resort is not inexpensive, I got a great price as part of a special sometimes offered at the "Manor House."

Room Tip: For two people, room 1435 in the "Manor House" is perfect. Cottages cost considerably more...

We came for 1 night and stayed in a lovely manor house. The room was very comfortable and had a great bathtub with wonderful robes, slippers, and toiletries. We enjoyed the pool and walking on the resort property. The history of the resort is fascinating. Dinner room service could be better as we waited for over an hour. We will return and use the spa and tennis courts next time.
