“Beautiful resort”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

I highly recommend the Barnsley Garderns Resort! A large group of family & friends stayed two nights for a wedding. The resort is beautiful and the staff is so friendly & accommodating! The rooms are very large, attractive and clean. There is golf, fishing, horseback riding and more, plus beautiful grounds & gardens and a museum in the ruins of an antebellum mansion. We had a couple of elderly people and the staff provided golf carts to pick them up at the door & take them where ever they needed to be. They always responded within minutes when we called. The wedding & reception went off without a hitch. The staff was awesome!

I've mentioned Barnsley to almost all of my friends and none of them have heard of it. I didn't know about it until a friend treated me to a weekend trip there. I can't say enough good about this place. The accommodations were the best and the restaurants had fabulous food. The staff was helpful, polite, and went out of their way to do for us. We went just before the Spring flowers had budded, but the gardens were still spectacular. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my stay, and would recommend this place to anyone.

Cute little houses on tree-lined streets. Perfect for groups, but we were just a couple travelling at a quiet time of year. They gave us a long-burning clean fuel block for the fire, which came in handy as it was early January. Very nice bed. Walking around the place was really pleasant too. We treated ourselves to an a-la-carte meal as it was the last night of a 2-week roadtrip - and the meal was excellent.

took my wife there for valentines day and had an excellent stay. we did the romanace package with dinner one night in the cottage fireside. We had a private butler serving dinner and it was out of this world. Suggest every couple to have this arranged. The resort is very quite and beautiful. we will definitely be back in spring. Every one at the resort was great and a pleasure to deal with.

I typically hate resorts that add a service charge automatically but will say that the service at Barnsley Gardens is exceptional and did mind the service charge added. They earned what they got and in some cases more.

everything was great!!!!

We recently celebrated my husband's birthday at Barnsley Gardens. We stayed in a king suite for two nights and liked it much better than the cottage rooms where there is a common living area. We enjoyed just reading and relaxing in front of the fireplace. Our only complaints were that there was not a lamp by the easy chair and housekeeping could be better. The staff was great. We enjoyed a surprise visit from the Fairy Godmother - she was fun! The food at Woodlands was good. We hope to visit when everything is blooming and the weather is better.

We came for a weekend getaway on the Valentine's package. We stayed in a king suite, which was lovely. The grounds are spectacular and the ruins of the old house are romantic and beautiful. The staff seemed a bit perplexed at check in, but otherwise, they were great. They were happy to help with any request. The spa was fair, at best. The spa facilities need a good cleaning and some fresh paint, and the spa staff seemed to be in a rush. The Woodlands Grill was comfortable and delicious for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Rice House for dinner was good, but not great, on a prix fixe basis. I would have preferred to eat at the Grill again. The fires around the property are wonderful, and we would like to return during spring/summer. Overall, a good escape from Atltanta/Chattanooga/Nashville.

We went for a romantic getaway around Christmas holidays. The place was magical with Christmas lights. The staff were warm and friendly. The history of the villa with the historian gave the place a great southern heritage. The place has something for anyone interested in a quick city getaway with so much to do. The food was expensive but the service and quality was top notch. It's great all seasons but the Christmas lights made it extra special for us. We stayed in one of the cottage rooms and the noise level was not as private as we'd like when sharing the cottage with others.
