I have heard many people saying such good things about Mo’s — and went for the first time today. It was not only good, but genuinely great. This describes everything about it — the food, the service, the atmosphere, the location. No wonder why it is such a designation for seemingly everyone (from individuals to groups) who know Miami area restaurants.

Tonight we had the absolutely worst experience ever in a local restaurant frequented by the Jewish Community in Aventura FL. As “snowbirds” we frequently flocked to Mo’s Bagel and Deli for familiar comfort food and friendly banter.
We often tolerated slow service, unswept floors and shabby decor for a nosh of bagels and lox or matzoh ball soup. This season we were pleased to see an almost complete Reno ... so we hoped for a good season food and get together with family and friends.
My family went to Mo’s for dinner tonight and although the restaurant was pretty full we were seated promptly at a comfortable booth in the back of the restaurant near a never used exit door. The service was slower than usual and there appeared to be one server for the whole back half of the restaurant. The harried and overwhelmed familiar woman was unable to keep up with all the tables... our dinner was very slow in coming out of the kitchen,
she mixed up our order, forgot several items, and spilled soup on my mothers caregiver... the omissions and mistakes are too many to mention. While this was happening to us and to other tables around us, The other familiar faces of servers seemed to be busy but not with customers .... they appeared to be dressed to the nines, and as customers were hurried out, they started emptying emptying the restaurant of all the tables and chairs and large benches through the door that was inches from our table. It was disorganized and noisy.... then a DJ was carting in equipment ... all within 2 inches of our table... needless to say this made for a very unpleasant dinner. Apparently a surprise party was being organized for one of the partner owners but they didn’t bother closing the restaurant or the section that we were seated in. Total chaos. When we expressed our dissatisfaction to the owner he dismissed us .... he was rude and condescending and unapologetic ....and he told the poor server to not charge us for three cups of coffee (our bill was 0ver 100$)... I said no thanks I would pay for the coffee but would never set foot in the restaurant again. When we went to pay at the cash this sentiment was echoed by several poorly treated patrons. So happy birthday Mo your gift is will be a loss of clients. Maybe your partner needs to get a clue about how to treat people.

We had a weekday lunch - a daily salad special, French toast with eggs, and a green salad. They were busy, but service was IMO bad even for a busy time. We sat for at least 15 minutes before anyone came to the table to even ask if we wanted water. After ordering, they brought each of us cole slaw and a cucumber - both were not very good, watery cole slaw and a nasty-tasting cuke. Then, the orders arrived. Whitefish salad was so salty that it was not eaten. French toast was supposedly made from challah but was heavy as lead and tasteless. They brought a bottle of Log Cabin for the syrup. Eggs were fine, but it's hard to mess up eggs. Green salad only marginal with a lot of yellowish lettuce. Bagels were pretty decent, and we bought rugelach on the way out which was quite good. Well over $50 for that before tip. There are better places within a mile or two (Bagel Cove is one). Go to Mo's only to buy the baked goods at the bakery counter.
