“Fabulous Scallops”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

Had a late lunch with family on a Sunday. Service was very friendly and prompt. They have several broiled seafood meals to choose from. The Cajun spice and the lemon pepper were both excellent. Salad bar included with entrees. Highly recommend this place. Great view too

“Not the place for prime rib”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

I went there for the first time with 20 motorcycle friends i ride with every weekend to different places to eat. I ordered the prime rib medium rare.i got an over cooked piece of meat that was dry and floating in a puddle of aujus.not from the meat I'm sure. My friends ordered various sandwiches and seemed happy. In the interest of not embarrassing or delaying our trip i ate what i could ..
Should have had a sandwich...we do return to places we like but i will not suggest the prime rib to anyone...on the other hand...the view and waitstaff were great.

“Service”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

I was with a group of 21 people at Blackwater Inn Restaurant. We had individual checks so the waitresses were quite loaded with work. Despite their work load the service was excellent. I had a 12 oz. prime rib. It was delicious. Because of the excellent service i tiped the watress about 25%. I had iced tea, The waitresses were observant enough that it will refilled when needed. The restaurant sets 150 people.

Thank you. Such kind words and much appreciated. Our Staff, from the kitchen to our servers, want everyone's dining experience to be a memorable one. While not "fancy" as some would think, we enjoy our status of "Casual Dining" and "Homey Atmosphere" and yes, a wonderful view to go with that. We take great pride in our restaurant. We have been there for over 27 years .. Bill Nordle was manager in 1985, then owner in 1994 and still continues to serve the Best food & Southern hospitality in the area. It pleases us to know we have pleased you!!

“Great relaxing restaurant”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

This is a wonderful place on the St. Johns River. I love their seafood. Food, service and atmosphere is fantastic. You can either sit upstairs in a more relaxed atmosphere or downstairs in a more romantic atmosphere. You can view the river from both.

“Not many places to choose from, so good that it's good.”
Reviewed November 29, 2012

Astor is small, and there aren't many dining establishments. It's good for Astor that Blackwater Inn has such a wide variety, and that they do what they do well.

Service was outstanding. The view was gorgeous. The snow crab was perfectly done, moist and sweet. Drawn butter came over a flame, and our sides were all well prepared. The sirloin was a little too well done for medium-well, but that's not surprising to me. Salad bar had some delicious dishes, and my husband really liked his turkey noodle soup.
