“Even better this trip”
Reviewed March 1, 2012

This was our second visit and it was even better than the first. This is a clean, comfortable accommodation. The rooms are a comfortable size with ample room to place your bags where they are easily accessible. The bath is larger than most hotel baths. The coffee is really good! Breakfast was better with more selections including real oatmeal with several toppings available. I wish the eggs had been more consistently good and would like to see boiled eggs as an option. Unfortunately, guests didn't operate the waffle maker according to the instructions and it had to be removed. That didn't bother us but was unfortunate for others. The staff was even more engaging and personable this trip . The staff was very accommodating to any requests/needs and to an unexpected change in our plans. My only suggestions would be to have at least one bread that is 100% whole wheat (loaf bread or English muffin) and to have a light yogurt available everyday.

King suite was nice and spacious always like having a fridge and microwave. Bed and room were comfortable and clean. As always the breakfast in the morning if you like the breakfast thing is adequate, oatmeal, cereal, egg, sausage and waffles with some coffee, juice and hot tea choices.

I was very impressed with the Hampton Inn in Apopka. The rooms were very comfortable & clean. I never heard anyone in the halls or doors slamming -- that is one of my pet peeves at a hotel. The beds were wonderful! They were so comfortable & when I got up in the morning I didn't have any aches & pains like I usually get when sleeping on a hotel room bed. The breakfast area was well stocked & the variety was great--we were there 4 nights & every day they had a different main "entree" (omelets, eggs, bacon, etc). The employees were very friendly and always greeted us with smiles. The only things we didn't like were: the lights in the parking lot were on some nights & off some nights, there was only one elevator working, & we got a candy bar out of the vending machine and it was nasty (had melted & reset up) but they gave us our money back (probably the vending machine companies fault). We didn't use the pool or the exercise room but both appeared to be very nice. We did use the laundry facilities & they were clean. We also enjoyed a game of Yahtzee in the lobby--they had a selection of games, books, magazines, etc. We will stay here again when visiting family in the area!

We stayed at this location end of July to beginning of August in 2011. The problems with this location are staff related and cleanliness issues. First off the staff complained to guests every chance that they got that they don't like working there and that some people were let go so now they have to all work more hours. Every night we were given 3 towels for a family of 4. Each night we had to call the front desk and ask them to bring another towel upstairs. When we booked the hotel their site says they have rollaway beds or cots and when we arrived we were told that they don't have them, and unless we wanted to pay an additional $100 per night to upgrade to another room, there was nothing that they could do. The doors from the parking lot to the hotel are supposed to be locked and a random person shouldn't have access to the guest rooms, both doors on either side of the hotel were always unlocked, you never needed your room key to enter the building. We were on the third floor of the hotel and 2 days the elevator was down. The front desk person, thought it was funny when we told them it was hard to carry our 3 year old son up and down the stairs during this time. Our last morning in the hotel we had to get up early for a flight and when we turned the light on we saw a huge cockroach on the ceiling. I bet there were more, but I had turned on the bathroom light prior and probably scared its friends away.
When I complained to the hotel, I was supposed to be contacted by a manager. That never happened, so I contacted hilton, since this is a hilton brand hotel. I was given the run around and told that they have a satisfaction gurantee and that I could have a refund for 2 of my nights stays. This was over 5 months ago and I have still not seen a refund and have lost faith in ever getting some money back.
I will never stay at this hotel again!

Room Tip: Don't stay here and you will find a better room at a different hotel

My family of five stayed at this Hampton Inn because it was close to Universal Studios Orlando and were very pleased! Our room was a suite and was the perfect size for our family! We were very happy throughout our stay at this facility and would recommend it to anyone!

Room Tip: Suites are the way to go!

Family and I stayed there a few days ago. Hotel was basically empty. There is a nearby Toll Road that takes you to the Western Gate of Disney and it was very convenient. Only drawback was if you stay all day in the park and drive home late the road is very dark and empty and it helps to have someone in the car to keep you awake.
We did some stuff North and West of the Hotel and it was very convenient to Mount Dora and Deleon Springs. If only doing Disney stuff it might be a little removed.
Staff was very nice except for the Tall Black haired girl at night. She seemed a little bother to be working. Not in the holiday spirit. Otherwise the breakfasts were good and staff friendly. Would stay again if in the area.

Room Tip: 5 floor was very good.
