We loved this place and had never seen this side of Florida. The water temperature was lovely and crystal clear and very refreshing. We hired kayaks and went searching for alligators which at times did not seem to be the most responsible parenting but the kids (11 & 9) loved going down the river. When we got in the kayaks a bear did run through the waters behind us getting everyones attention!!! A great place to get back to nature and away from those pesky parks..

Wekiwa Springs is one of numerous Florida State Parks near Orlando. This park has a natural spring and a large swimming area. The water temperature hovers around 70 degrees year round. It offers a cool respite from the summer heat of central Florida. You may use your own canoe and kayak, and they are also available for rent. It's possible to access the St. John's River from this park. Numerous picnic areas and bathroom facilities available. Also, a small general store. Nice way to spend a hot summer day in central Florida.

Canoes available. Great for picnics. Spring water cold, but great! Make sure you bring food, no restarurants are in the park.
