“Beautiful setting”

Chestnut Street Cemetery
Attraction details

Well kept and tidy. Very respectful. The history of Apalachicola right here. A who's who of the area. Many businesses talk about the History of the area, nice to see the final resting place of all the founders, Veterans and others.

Thank Peter M

Neat to see the names of the town's founding families: Orman, Coombs, Raney, etc. The cemetery is not well maintained, and the markers are weathered. The iron fences and gates surrounding the family plots are rusting away, but still have dignity and presence. There must have been a lot of wealth in this town.

Couldn't read most of the markers. Overgrown grass. Would have liked to be able to read more of the history.

interesting place to walk through and there are some good photo opps but the place is run-down, rusty and a bit of a safety hazard. I hope the city is going to invest some time and money to restore this historic site.

Love all the old graves. They gave confederate soldiers here also. Really old headstones. But I wish the town would take better dare of the cemetery. Headstones were leaning or gave fallen. Sunken graves also.
