Both times the food had been very good. The oysters (raw and garlic Parmesan) were excellent. The seafood platters were large and the scallops, oysters, shrimp and fish were lightly battered and very tasty. The service was friendly and efficient. My only complaint was that the condiments left a lot to be desired (ketchup was watery and salad dressing tasted like Kraft). The restaurant can handle large groups and it is on a nice site on the water - but don't expect great ambiance.

If you get chance to visit Papa Joes for fried shrimp you won't be disappointed. It over looks the water where if you are lucky you can see a gator! While waiting for your food, which is delicious, you can take in the scenery. It is not on the main road but off the beaten track where regulars go as they know where it is.
It is not a top class restaurant but the service and the locals are very friendly and the fried shrimp and slaw is lovely. If you want to get off the beaten track and see what the locals eat please visit Papa Joes.

Great location. Ambiance was to be desired. Food was average. Prices were more than expected for average food.

My husband, daughter, son-in-law and I ate here in early November and really enjoyed it. The oysters baked with different toppings were served hot and delicious. The fried shrimp were fried perfectly and the basket was a generous serving. Food was hot and fresh and beer was cold -- what more can you ask? The service was prompt and friendly. Don't eat here for a fine dining experience, eat here for good fresh seafood and a great view.
