The scallop basket is amazing! Lots of scallops cooked just right! Had oysters on the half shell, just as expected! Also we had the soft shell blue crab sandwich with fries. It was great also! Gumbo is not bad, but not the best in the area. Cheese grits were awesome! The atmosphere is great, beautiful view of the apalachicola river and the bridge going over to Eastpoint! Watch for the birds, they will swoop in and steal your food! You can watch the fishermen bringing in the oysters and tourists to the dock while you are eating....good times.

Waterfront dining, great fried seafood. Highly recommend. Average service, but that is par for Apalachicola restaurants so do not let what people say about the service determine your restaurant choices in this area. It is all about the quality of the food so focus on what people say about the food in their reviews. All seafood is expensive, here and everywhere. So if you want fresh seafood, be prepared to pay for it. Our favorites were Boss, Caroline's and Owl. Caroline's is the sister restaurant to Boss. Hole in the Wall, but they only serve oysters.

The oysters were wonderful but the waitress we had was the best buy far. Wish we had her name. Cold beer and oysters that's what it's all about.

Decided to try a different place while staying in St. George Island and having dinner in Apalachicola. Walked into Boss Oyster, quaint place on the river, so far so good, but opened up the menu and husband and I both looked at each other and asked, "Should we leave" the heart of oyster growing and they wanted premium prices, compared to other oysters places in the community and compared to other places an hour or more further down the road. We stayed, did not order NO oysters, ordered a fish dinner and we split it. Finished the dinner and proceeded to head down the street to another oyster house and order their oysters for the finishing touch of dinner. Sad that they have to charge such a ridiculous price when they have oyster boats sitting in front of their restaurant. As of know the price of oyster have gone up a small bit, here at our local haunt we pay for a dozen raw shelled $5.99...awesome price, and we go there several times a month. Needless to say, we will never return, and we go to this area 3 or 4 times a year.

Food was good but the oysters were a bit pricey compared to other places in the area, almost double. The fried shrimp and fried scallop baskets were awesome! Get oysters one place and your meal here.
