Went for lunch today - - trying to find a place to stay out of the rain. The negative? overly air-conditioned. The positives? good food in a pleasant atmosphere. Very friendly waitstaff - - quick with the free refills of coke and tea. I had the black bean soup and "small" crab quesadilla. The black bean soup was heavenly - - creamy, with a hint of heat. The crab quesadilla was delicious - - and a lot of food. fresh crab meat with lettuce and tomatoes, wrapped in a flour tortilla with some shredded cheese. It came with corn chips and an excellent, fresh, simple tomato salsa on the side. DH had the grilled tuna sandwich, which came with a caper sauce and home-made potato chips. It was excellent - - the tuna was moist, even though it was cooked medium.

THe coffee was unusual. It was a blend I was unfamiliar with. It was not watery, which can often be the unfortunate case, but I was not crazy about it.

We did not have room for dessert. Lunch for 2 was $28.00

Tamara's Cafe was wonderful! My husband and the in-laws were out looking for a late dinner around 9:30. After asking if they were still serving so late the staff greeted us with smiles and a warm welcome despite the 10pm closing time. The food was outstanding!! I had the Argentinian Steak Gaucho which was out of this world, the plantains were fabulous and the unique steak dressing was perfect with the juice steak!!! We were all very pleased with the kind staff and fab-tab-ulous food!! We will definitely keep this on the list for next years vacation!!

The food was fresh, beautifully presented and a little different from the run of the mill coastal food. The South American influences led to some really nice combinations on regular local food choices. We even had some appetizers brought in from the tapas bar with our evening meal. We really liked the fact that they had daily changes in the menu with specials. And deserts were very good. A really nice experience in a lovely little town...try it.
