We love to visit Apalachicola, Florida. It is a wonderful, quiet, quaint town. There are several excellent restaurants in town, but we especially love the pecan encrusted grouper at Tamara's. The salads are also very good. The service can sometimes be questionable, as in inattentive, but always friendly and polite.

My four year old son and I recently stopped into Tamera's cafe for lunch. First it took almost ten minutes for someone to take our drink order. Then after taking my son to the restroom we came back and waited and waited for our waitress to take our order. Finally after over fifteen minutes of watching our waitress go out of her way to ignore us we left and went across the street to the Seafood Grill and had a great lunch . Oh and Tameras was only half full. Avoid this place when in Apalach.

We were hungry by the time we hit Apalachicola and saw Tamara's on the corner as we entered the city. There was a space to park available off the street right by the restaurant. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice. It was comfortable and a bit artsy. We ordered a salad and two entrees. The fried flounder tacos were excellent. The best fish taco I have ever eaten and I love fish tacos. Everything was good and fresh. If we lived in Apalachicola, we definitely would be back.

Last weekend in Apalachicola we went to Tamara's two nights running!. Fish tacos are on the menu of most north Florida bistros now, but Tamara's are outstanding! The grouper chunks were crispy on the outside, moist and delicious inside, served in a grilled soft flour tortilla with fresh shredded cabbage and cilantro, and a creamy lime dressing. Three hefty tacos made up the plate, with well-seasoned black beans, yellow rice and fresh tomato salsa on the side. The Cuban pork tacos were equally good, juicy and aromatic. Several tacos appear on the menu, and they're all different. The pear salad was delicious, too, and large enough for two to share. My partner (amazingly picky about Ceasar salad) proclaimed Tamara's to be excellent, with properly fried real croutons. His only complaint was that it didn't have anchovies.

Tamara's Cafe Floridita is next door to Tamara's Tapas Bar, which also has a great menu. (No one objected when we asked to order from both menus, in the Cafe.) The Bar gets raucous at night , but the cafe is family-friendly with the music turned down a bit. Service is excellent. We only wished we had saved room to try some of the desserts!

Tamara's is family-friendly, with long hours.

We always enjoy breakfasts here, as well as lunches and dinner.
Fast attentive service for a family oriented or single restaurant. Breakfast is best value. Quality food.
