“The Dixie is a classic”
Review of Dixie Theatre

We have attended things at the Dixie for 12 years. Everything from first-run movies, to plays, to the yearly Habitat for Humanity benefit fundraiser event.

What a theater classic--complete with velvet curtains, brick walls, a large balcony, professional stage/backstage, and total sound and light capability. Carpeted lobby behind the old-time ticket window--they just don't make them like this anymore!

This little gem in Apalachicola is a must do when you are there. They have live bands, Nashville songwriters and plays. It is an old theater so it has lots of charm. Have a beer or a glass of wine and drift back to bygone days.

Went here to this fantastic little theater & saw the one lady show called Girls from Florida. Nancy was stupendous & kept us enthralled thoughout the performance. Wonderful olde worlde small live theater atmosphere sitting around little tables & so close to the performance. Glad we didnt miss out on this gem.

The Dixie is a special place for those who love professional entertainment in the old fashion way. We have season tickets this year. One different show each week. So far we have enjoyed "A Tribute to Patsy Cline", a one woman show but with a full, live orcehstra working behind her.

The audience sit at tables on the main floor with a nearby bar. Others may sit in several balconies with very good views. Shows cost $25 and you will see professional entertainers up close and personal.

Next week will be Bob Milane, an accomplished honky tonk pianist that offers a variety of music types.

Make your Florida vacation even more enjoyable with this special treat.
