“best way to experience river country”

Capt. Gill's River Cruises
Reviewed February 19, 2012

Captain Gill took us into remote, mysterious Apalachicola river country, (accessible only by boat) - in his very comfortable, in any weather boat "Lily". Beautiful scenery and Captain Gill tells great stories about the area, the birds and trees and history. Wonderful adventure!!!

I have had the pleasure of touring the river with Gil on numerous occasions. It is always on my grandchildrens wish list when they visit the area, and I have accompanied many of my friends on their river trips.Gil is most knowledgable about the river and its environs , and is a story teller par excellance..Plus his boat, The Lily, is perfect for this endeavor.

We were invited by friends to join them on Capt. Gill's river tour. The trip was a pleasant way to spend about 4 hours on a spring afternoon. Capt. Gill is both gracious and humorous, with a southern gentlemanly charm.
We brought our own refreshments and cameras while Capt. Gill guided us through the estuaries and tributaries that flow into the Apalachicola River and eventually become the famous bay. We also learned a fair amount of local history. All of this was in air conditioned comfort. There is no need to worry about getting wet either. The boat is fully enclosed but also has a sundeck on the roof for outdoor viewing. You may even see a 'gator or two.
