Great view on the porches of this restaurant. We had excellent food. The crab cakes and the raw oysters were definite hits. House wine is inexpensive and poured to the top. I thought....that's not the correct pour of this wine, BUT then I thought, yeah! Big glass of wine for a great price. It's not a fancy place. It's a fishing town place that has good Florida ambiance, a great view of the river and marshes and boats on the move. Friendly service, but unusual service....we were given menus when we walked in and told "sit anywhere you like. ". We sat on the semi enclosed porch which had the windows open to the breezes and view. It was beautiful. You then go to a counter and order your food. They give you a number to place on your table. You get your own fountain drink or tea or water. They bring your bar drinks to your table. There is a salad bar which also houses the cocktail sauce and horseradish and extra crackers....I got the sauce and horseradish myself for my oysters. They then deliver your food order to your table. If you don't mind taking care of little things in the restaurant yourself, which we didn't, it's a great, fun place. Will definitely be back!

This was our fourth trip to the Apalach/St. George Island area to dine at Up the Creek. We ate here twice in our three day visit (we almost always hit it up more than once when we visit the area). We've been coming to the area once a year for the last 11 years and this is our favorite restaurant there. The oysters are fresh-caught that day and expertly shucked (no grit). Try them with their special mignonette topping - fresh, garlicky, delicious! They have a bunch of daily specials on the board inside in addition to the menu. We had the bisque and it was to die for. Their boiled shrimp taste like little lobsters. The Alligator Point clams in broth with a side of fries - we were in heaven. Salad bar is okay - not too many options but it's fresh. Wonderful food aside, we also love that their patio is dog-friendly (and so are the servers). The patio has a lovely second-floor view of the river. It's not the most budget-friendly place but the quality and friendly, efficient service make the price worth it. Order at the counter inside when you get there, then if you want something else the servers will bring it to you. Pay at the counter before you leave. Full bar!

Our family enjoyed all their food. The place wasn't to busy and we had great service. They have a variety of options which is good for us because our kids aren't up for oysters quite yet. Prices are similar to other restaurants in Appalachicola. They have a great view also. Would stop again next time in Appalachicola.

Great view wonderful service. Food was very good but pricey. $6.99 for kids meal plus drink cost. Great location just in town.

Beautiful view from the restaurant over the water. Wish we weren't in such a hurry and could have lingered and enjoyed the scenery. They were out of the local oysters due to bad weather the previous couple days. The oysters they had were from Texas and were very small, but tasty. Also got a cup of the gumbo and it was thick and really good. Would like to visit again. The other diners all seemed to be enjoying their meals.
