“A beautiful Inn and Wonderful Staff”
Reviewed November 29, 2010

Our family of 4 spent Thanksgiving in Apalachicola and stayed at the Coombs Inn. The Inn is a beautiful, historic home within walking distance to the quant downtown area. The accomodations were wonderful as was the Innkeeper and staff. We had a wonderful, homecooked Thanksgiving dinner there at the Inn with other guests and a very memorable stay! I would definitely recommend this inn to other couples and families with older children!

Wonderful house, great staff, excellent location. Walking distance to downtown. We stayed in the main house but the other location looked just as nice (about one block away). Great choice for a quiet weekend in a wonderful small town.

Ride the bike to see the town, take a trip to St. George island to stroll the beach and you must try coffee, whatever kind at " cafe con leche ", best with their scones, wonderful.
Dont be to late for dinner at the waterfront, all are great , but close at 9 pm.

We stayed for two nights and wished we could stay longer. The new innkeepers, Patsy and Keith, were charming and nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and beautifully furnished with antiques. The bed was extremely comfortable, we were told it was a new mattress and it was great. The drinks party was a nice touch, we had great fun with the other guests, and Patsy told us of the history of the Coombs Inn which was fascinating. Breakfasts were very good and plentiful, and they made sure we had English tea with milk. We took the complimentary bikes which was great fun and they were in good working order. We also used the beach chairs and umbrella. A very good stay and we would return here.

Stayed in the Tupelo Room. The bathroom you do have to step up too enter. The Tupelo Room is upstairs so you don't hear people walking above you. The porch upstairs was nice, but a little noisy with the traffic, loved the rocking chairs. The breakfast was good, wasn't much on the flavored coffee, I like regular coffee and cream, not milk.

From our warm greeting to the fond farewells - we were welcomed into a family home. We arrived as travelers and departed as friends. It was the briefest of stays, but more than sufficient to place a small part of a beautiful town in our hearts. Despite the downturn in business , as a result of the oil spill, the staff was positive and optimistic. Their friendly advice was valuable in ensuring we got the most out of our few short hours. Special mention should go to Estella for all her hard work. The accommodation is in two sumptously restored mansions and the decor and styling are a real tribute to the flair and skill of the owner. It feels as elegant as it looks.

Beautiful bed and breakfast in the heart of the historic district of old Apalachicola, Florida. Short walk to the center of this charming town. Very good restaurants of all styles. My wife and I try to get here every year although it is a 5 hour drive for us.
