Museum and its various artefacts and photographs explain the history and development of Anna Maria island and its community.
Separate building is a well restored, small, furnished cottage previously located on the municipal pier! Also adjacent is the tiny, basic former jailhouse!

We were rained out on the beach for awhile so we popped in here for a visit. Two VERY nice ladies greeted us and welcomed us in from the down pour. We had a 2 year old, 5 year old and a 17 year old and they were wonderful with the kids. Lots of great local history to view and read about. Nicely displayed and some hands on stuff for the kids. Each of the little ones got to select a trinket from the treasure box. Small gift shop with some unique items, bathroom and right next door the old jail. Parking lot small and stony. Tough on old legs or wheelchairs. We recommend a stop here and learn more about the history of this part of Florida and the US. Dinosaurs, Native Americans, Settlers, even Fig Newtons. July 2019

Lots of original items from the turn of the century on the island. The curator was very informative. They even had a scavenger hunt that made it fun for the kids!
