“VERY busy place - that is a good sign”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

The chowder was so very good - loved the place. The service is good and the place was packed. Good sign. You can eat at the bar area and getting a seat there is much quicker. Nice view and a great place.

“Recommended by a friend and he was right”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2014

When a friend knew we were coming to Sarasota, he told us that we had to go to the Rod and Perch pier at Anna Maria Island and eat the fish and chips. He was so right. We both opted for the regular size, but it was very generous. It makes you wonder how big the large size would have been. The fish and chips were beautifully cooked and a joy to eat. It is a small venue, but we went late in the afternoon so we got a table on the verandah overlooking the sea. It was perfect.

“Seared Tuna and Cold Beer!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2014

Cool LITTLE bar downstairs next to the live bait. Old Florida at its best. Even if you are not hungry, its a great place to soak a line and grab a cold one.

Our favorite place to eat on Anna Maria Island! Never disappoints. Huge portions! I've had the chicken and burgers and my husband has their fish and says its delicious! Very small, but great views! Friendly staff. Will definetly be back!

“Fresh Seafood?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2014

A friend of ours who is a Tampa local absolutely LOVES this place. As a fisherman, he thinks the fresh caught offerings are great. I wasn't too impressed. It is EXTREMELY pricey and crowded because it is a very small venue. Also, the overwhelming scent of rotting garbage is enough to make you lose your appetite. Not a clean place by any means. The idea has merit, but the atmosphere is not properly executed. They need to expand the pier and keep fishing to specific areas away from the restaurant area.
