Description: The Sandbar Restaurant, located on the north end of Anna Maria Island, has for decades been a favorite for locals. Dine with your toes in the sand and a drink in your hand on our waterfront deck or enjoy our inside dining room. We offer gulf to table, farm to fork, and pasture to plate sustainable menu items. Our menus reflect our commitment to serving our guests the best in local and sustainable seafood, produce, and land fare. The Sandbar is the most popular place on Anna Maria Island for beach weddings and sunset receptions. My family and I came to this fantastic restaurant twice during our week long stay in Sarasota. It is situated in the most perfect and idyllic location on Anna Maria Island. The service is amazing, and the staff cannot do enough for you, taking time to explain each dish on the menu for you. They don't take bookings, so my tip is to get a table at around 6.30pm or 7pm (or slightly earlier if you have younger children) and ask for a table in the sand area. Try the soft shell crab to start, followed by blackened grouper or cobia....then wait for the sunset. It is magical. The staff go around each table asking people to predict when the sun sets, which makes for a really fun evening. Drinks wise, I recommend their local white wine, named Lola - fresh, dry and a perfect accompaniment for any of the fish dishes. They also do a mean mojito and their deserts are huge. If you go to Anna Maria or Sarasota, your trip is not complete without dining at this lovely little restaurant. They also have a cool shop which sells lovely clothes and souvenirs. Go go go there!

We were staying in Treasure Island and drove an hour south to spend the afternoon in Anna Maria Island. We had vacationed there five years ago and loved it. We went to Sandbar Restaurant, our favorite on Anna Maria. It has been updated a bit since our last visit and the menu had some great selections. The location is absolutely gorgeous and the staff was very attentive and friendly.

While visiting from Southern California we had an opportunity to eat at the Sandbar Restaurant. Wendy was our waitress and what a wonderful lady she was. Her smile was infectious and her personality was beyond words. This restaurants should clone her and every patron should be so lucky to have her wait on them. Thanks so much for a wonderful meal and most of all for Wendy being a spark of sunshine and a real treat. Patty King Trabuco Canyon, CA

Our family was impressed with the Sandbar on our last visit. Everyone enjoyed the food. I had the bison burger - one of the best burgers I've ever had.

The restaurant is right on the beach and we were able to watch a beautiful sunset while we dined. The service was very good, especially since they were packed that night. I can't wait to come back.

We only has appetizers and drinks here. The clams casino were delicious as well as the BBQ wings. The Sweet Water 420 on draft was very cold and refreshing. The kids had virgin mango daiquiris which were good, but were costly at $6 each. The salsa was delicious too!
