Got in at Midnite. The check-in lady was very nice. No small talk, she could tell I was tired. With five other people in tow we got a roll out bed which was delived in five minutes! Thank You!!

We stayed at this hotel one Friday night we had a reservation there through the weekend but had to check out early the room was so disgusting. The towels had holes in them they were a dingy grey color and the sheets looked like they hadn't been changed. We had to stay in the area for a wedding so we went next door to the Quality Inn and we had a much better experience. The staff was great and the breakfast there was a million times better than the one at the econolodge. Everything was so much cleanier. Needless to say we will never again make the mistake of staying at the Econo Lodge again.

Towels were stained and had softball size holes, the faucet leaked and would flood the counter, the shower has been caulked over about 10 times, the ceiling was chipping, the carpet and floors were dirty, the beds were the absolute worse, and the pillows were hard! The breakfast was pitiful at best! Everything is saran wrapped and looks like it is months old. The only thing we would eat was the waffles because we knew they were the most fresh thing there. However just like another reviewer one morning they were out of waffle mix and the employee was less then helpful. The employee looked like she was maybe the manager and she was so rude every day. Over all this was not the worse place to stay but we would not recommend this place due to the poor service and quality of rooms.

I'm a Bulls fan and stayed at this hotel while I was in town for the Bulls vs UF football game on September 11, 2010. We stayed at the Econo Lodge for 1 day / night on September 10th because there is no reason to stay 2 nights in Gainesville, FL since our game was a nooner.

All of the other hotels in and around UF require a 2 night minimum stay and this place did not which is why we chose it. The hotel next door was not an option because it is rumored that they have bed bugs.

The room did smell a bit moldy but once the air was on for a few minutes the problem was solved. This was the only problem that we noticed.

In all the hotel was quite, the staff was great, and we had a restful night. The breakfast was okay, just your basic hotel deal. The coffee was better then normal though.

We will defiantly stay here in 2015 when the Bulls come back to the Swamp to get revenge. Hopefully we will have a better QB by then. We almost won the game if not for our poor QB. We will stay here because its CHEAP and we don't have to book for 2 nights.

This is the best place to stay if you are coming in to G'ville for a game... lets face it you will be out partying and beering it up the night before and don't need a hotel for 2 nights. If we needed a hotel for 2 nights then we would of stayed at the Hilton or somewhere a lot closer to the stadium.

My family was looking for a decently priced motel/hotel the night before the Florida football game. I got Econo Lodge on travelocity at the best price I could find. Lesson learned!!!! Check in was fine, I had no issues with the staff. The room had obviously not had the air conditioning on in days, if not weeks. It smelled very moldy in there and there were spider webs on the windows. It was late at night, or we would have moved elsewhere! After turning the air on, the room became more tolerable with the smell. The beds were not very comfortable, and we did not get a good nights sleep. Free breakfast was offered, and it was the usual fare; nothing fancy, but just okay. I can't believe I spent $95.00 to stay there. It is old and needs major renovations.

I arrived at almost 10pm and left first thing the next morning, so can't elaborate on the surrounding area. The lady who checked me in was courteous and efficient. The room could have used painting and updating, but I was really just there to sleep, so no worries.

One nice thing they did, which I wish more older properties would do, is address the shortage of electric outlets. (This is a pet peeve of mine, but I understand many motels were built before we carried around so many electronic gadgets.) They had a good power strip plugged in and handy to the room's work table. I was able to plug in my laptop and phone charger without having to hunt around for a socket or use the extension cord I carry. A good, simple solution I wish more motels would adopt!

There is traffic going by on 441, and my room faced the highway (ground floor), but with the A/C unit on, it was not loud enough to be an issue.

Breakfast was limited, but OK for a motel this size.

We were traveling thru Alachua, FL from Jonesboro, AR to Naples, FL when our van broke down about 3 blocks from this motel. We checked all motels in the area and decided to stay @ Econo Lodge. From the time we checked in with Crissy, the PM auditor, until we checked out with Linda, the AM auditor, everything was extremely superb. We had to get a part for the van and the closest parts store was about a mile away. One of the men in our party asked Marilyn, the housekeeper, if they ever took breaks and left the premises. She in turn asked Linda, who loaned her car to Marilyn for her to take us to the auto parts store to get the parts we needed. From the very first "Hello" to the last "Goodbye" the whole experience was one of the best I have ever had @ a motel.

Great motel & super nice staff. If I ever need a motel in that area again, it will be Econo Lodge, 15920 NW US Highway 441, Alachua, FL.

Most sites place a cap of about 5 Kudos per review. However, for this review, a full tractor/trailer load would not be enough.

Thanks, Crissy, Marilyn, & Linda, (the order we had contact with them) for making the world a better place & the motel experience such a wonderful one. You made our problems much easier.
