Aspen is incredibly expensive on every front including restaurants. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed the Red Onion. It was somewhat more reasonable, had a relaxed bar atmosphere and had fantastic burgers. We went their twice during our week we liked it so much.

The service was fabulous here, we were asked for our drinks order straight away which I always feel is a good sign.
Tacos were very tasty and a great size for the snack menu.
Fun atmosphere with plenty of people around.

We had the burger special - a buffalo burger with sides - grilled Brussels sprouts which were delicious
Service was a bit slow and the booths & tables weren't really full when we got there
Food was great & well priced
Tried a pitcher of a local Colorado beer - which was ok
Fun atmosphere
Overall - pretty good pub food experience
Would most likely go back
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

We almost wrote off the Red Onion due to some of the bad reviews but we are sure glad we didn't! No, it isn't the world's finest dining but that's not what we were looking for that night.

The food was good, the prices fair, and vibe electric. The snobs that ridicule the Red Onion probably shouldn't have gone there in the first place. It's a great bar with good food and doesn't strive to be anything more.

While we were in aspen the local NFL team was playing so not many restaurants were open. But this restaurant was open and it was amazing great hearty food. A very casual restaurant at the time it was my mothers birthday so they supplied candles for the cake we had bought earlier. If im ever in aspen again ill defiantly be stopping at the red onion.
