We almost wrote off the Red Onion due to some of the bad reviews but we are sure glad we didn't! No, it isn't the world's finest dining but that's not what we were looking for that night.

The food was good, the prices fair, and vibe electric. The snobs that ridicule the Red Onion probably shouldn't have gone there in the first place. It's a great bar with good food and doesn't strive to be anything more.

While we were in aspen the local NFL team was playing so not many restaurants were open. But this restaurant was open and it was amazing great hearty food. A very casual restaurant at the time it was my mothers birthday so they supplied candles for the cake we had bought earlier. If im ever in aspen again ill defiantly be stopping at the red onion.

Best food in Aspen!!!! Delicious, hearty food. Crab hush puppies, onion rings to die for, and the best mac and cheese with a Tex-Mex flavor. Service top notch. Big tv's, casual atmosphere, live music, but not screaming loud.

Will be back every time I go back to Aspen. Oh desserts are fabulous!

What a great meal. We dined until we were totally stuffed and could find nothing at all that was not perfect. The ribeye special was superb, Mac and cheese first class and burgers delicious. The live music and football on the many TV's made for a great and relaxing evening. In such a pretentious town of stuffy, overpriced (and disappointing) restaurants, The Red Onion is a great place full of locals. My entire family agreed it was the best meal of the entire trip!

Great local place in middle of Aspen, we had two meals there recently. Both times we had great service and very good food. The menu has something for everyone, including the teenagers who were with us on one occasion. Look forward to returning. Very casual.
