“I love the Gant!”

I go to the Gant because it's peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing and it never disappoints. The 10 minute walk to the Aspen Club & Spa is so gorgeous and refreshing each morning. The hotel's location is great, it's within walking distance of everything I need (although they do offer shuttle service within town, I have never needed it). I have received a room upgrade 3 out of 4 times, so that was nice, but even the non-upgraded room was totally fine, just smaller. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the the smaller pool by Building G is especially nice. We like to take naps by that pool on the lounge chairs. If you want a less expensive meal, we really liked the calzones at Taster's - you can walk there from the Gant, or they deliver.

Room Tip: In my experience, the first floor of building H is the worst since the patio is right there on the p...

We recently spent two nights at The Gant. The staff could not have been more helpful, giving us tips on hikes, restaurants, etc. The property is beautiful and well-maintained. Great location, close to everything, though not in the middle of town. While we walked everywhere, there is a free shuttle to take you downtown and pick you up when you like. The condos are all a little different. Ours felt very elegant, with tasteful, expensive furnishings, but a little run-down. (The handle on the shower moved the entire part--not sure what it's called--where it connects to the wall. One of the window handles was broken. Screen door tough to lock. Nothing major). We used the kitchen for meals, including dinner, and it was well-stocked with utensils, dishes, pots and pans, etc. There are two pool areas; both pools are heated and clean. It felt like being home on vacation--much better than a hotel! Would highly recommend!

Fabulous Gant
Great staff, wonderful accommodation. Right at the base of Mount Aspen in view of the ski lifts. We had a 3 bed condo on the pool and it was excellent. Very nice high end furnishings through out even the soaps where well chosen. We had the log fire roaring away at nite with some wine and cheese, just lovey. The Gant has shuttles to town on demand which are prompt and free. Highly recommended and spen is a great town !!

Room Tip: By the pool if you can if not just ask for a mountain view....

If you're spending a night or a week in Aspen, you MUST stay at The Gant. Each Unit is very well appointed, quiet, very comfortable beds, everything you need just add food & drink!

Location is perfect too. Walking distance (5-10 mins) or shuttle to town!

The pool and hot tubs, sauna, showers and fireplaces are wonderful. Staff is exceptional. Shuttle service with a smile. Unending trails to walk, run, bike and enjoy! Must visit Maroon Bells too.

We just returned last night and planning another trip in August. Any season in Aspen is spectacular and be sure to stay at The Gant, you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Request third floor and you'll have vaulted ceilings and nice views too!

Spent last weekend at the Gant. Front desk help were very nice....they upgraded us from a one room unit to a two bedroom condo. It was beautiful. Very well decorated, nice patio where we were able to sit outside while it was raining. Front desk called the night before we were going to leave to see if we needed any help with luggage or a ride in the morning. Would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in K104 and would definately recommend this unit!

We stayed at the Gant for the second year in a row and it did not disappoint. In fact when comparing it to several other ski resorts that we stayed at over this past season, my husband and I both agree it was the best by far. We have skied in Utah: Park City and Deer Valley, California ( numerous places in Tahoe and in Mammoth),Nevada, and Oregon, and my husband has skied in Europe. Anyway, we love Aspen Colorado! BTW... it is NOT snobby at all there. Overall the people in the town were super laid back ( in a good way) and very polite and helpful. The exception for this was at the St. Regis where we stayed a few years ago. We didn't have a nice visit there. See that review under my profile.

Anyway, the Gant is a great value. We stayed in a nicely done 3 bedroom, 3 bath condo with a fireplace. The shuttle drivers drove us around town, they take you to a bus that takes you to skiing and snowboarding. All VERY easy to get around and we have 4 kids so believe me, this is important for us. The downtown Aspen shopping and restaurants were very charming. There is also an outdoor ice skating rink. The kids LOVED that.

There is also a community rec center, that will make you jealous! So much to do for kids. Ice skating rink there too.

You can see my previous review for more details about the Gant but all in all it was 5 stars for me. The only suggestion I have for the management is that they need to put better lighting on the stairs. It was hard to see at night.

Only one shuttle driver was rude to us, all the others were excellent. The shuttle driver told us she could take us to a play at a community center, but then dropped us off at a bus stop at night and didn't really explain how far it was. It turned out to be out of the way, and a bit scary at night to walk around after the bus.

The opera house however is right in town and they have lots of plays and shows, best to get tickets ahead of time if possible. Especially around the holidays.

The 12 Days of Aspen is a fun thing that the town sponsors, with various great things for kids to do. Check that out too if you are going in December.

There is no restaurant at the hotel but the shuttle takes you right to town and there are tons down there.

The pool and hot tub is really nice and it's a great memory as you can look right up at the mountain full of snow. Romantic, and the kids thought it was beautiful too.

The property offers a great value for what you get. As I said in my last review ... "Better than a Hotel..."

P.S. I saw Goldie Hawn while shopping at the Ralph Lauren shop. She was talking and I recognized her voice and I looked up. She literally took my breath away. Her hair was all "mussed" up but she looked beautiful. I was with my 2 daughters, pushing a stroller. Anyway, that was neat. We saw a few other not as famous stars there too. It's just normal to see those kind of people walking around there.

If you thought this review was helpful will you check that little box below that says so. It makes me feel good to know I'm not wasting my time doing all this typing.

Thanks. Marin Momma aka Mrs. Picky reporting in.

This was our 12th stay at The Gant which must say something positive about it!

It is well located, about a 10 minute walk from the gondola at Ajax Mountain - and 5 minutes from the supermarket

Each condo differs (as they are privately owned, but we always have a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom condo. On our most recent trip we found that new showers had replaced the rather outdated (and small) baths (although whether this is universal we don't know)

The condos are generally well equipped and are cleaned daily, beds made and plenty of good quality towels provided. Additional towels are provided by the pools

All the staff we encoutered were delightful and couldn't do emough for us to make our stay as pleasant as possible, lifting skis on and off the bus etc

There are 2 pools with outside jacuzzi and also a (small) gym - which seems to be barely used. There are also tennis courts - and this year, as the weather was so warm, the nets had been put up (although no one used the courts whilst we were there)

We made the transfer from Denver Airport using the Colorado Mountain Express, which provides a private transfer. It's approximately a 4 hour drive - but more reliable than taking the shuttle flight which is not infrequently cancelled in bad weather - and there are connected deals available which also result in cut price lift passes (which are otherwise $100+/day)

We will no doubt return again as this is an excellent base for a family holiday
