We have just returned and had a great stay at the Limelight. Once we had moved rooms after the first night (we were in one of the 4 superior rooms in the hotel, but this was over the main entrance so a little noisy), but after that everything was perfect. The new room was great, even though it was considered a lower spec to the first one (we preferred it). Staff were brilliant. Breakfast was included and was all you needed. Afternoon wine and nibbles in the lobby was a great innovation. There is nothing more we could have wanted. Our only worry is that the family who have run the hotel for years have sold it to the aspen ski company. We hope this will not mean it loses its charm for next season.

I must agree with most people who wrote reviews about this hotel. Limelight Lodge is a great new hotel in Aspen. We enjoyed our recent stay there and plan to come back next year.
Pros: Location - short walk to bus terminal and only 2blocks from Aspen mountain and all attractions. Friendly staff. Large rooms. Heated pool and jacuzzi. Ski concierge (no need to drug your skis to your room, they will store it for u). free wifi.
Cons - limited breakfast choices (although better than nothing but I would love to see more variety and some hot meals as well). The same goes for apres ski. Cookies and cheese are awesome but even Hotel Aspen had more variety.
Still highly recommend.

We spent a week here at the end of February. Our fireplace room was very comfortable, although we had to move after a couple of nights after being kept awake by the ice machine right outside.
Great location - steps from the bus stop, town centre and just a few minutes from Aspen Mtn gondola.
The inclusive breakfast is a saving, but it's a bit limited and the same every day, and there weren't enough tables for everyone turning up at the same time and not being managed. That was our only moan really.
Would certainly stay again.

The staff at the Limelight could not be more accommodating, welcoming and friendly. The location is excellent with beautiful views of Aspen. You can walk to all of the restaurants and to the mountain - no car needed! The rooms are new, large, and clean with comfortable mattresses. The complimentary breakfast, all day beverages and wine hour with fresh-baked cookies was a treat. It helps to save money to put towards a great dinner! The lodge combines old fashion charm with new rooms and excellent service. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a great stay in Aspen at a reasonable price. The staff will make you feel right at home! Also, remember your swim suit - we forgot ours and the hot tubs looked enticing!

Not cheap but worth it. Save your pennies by dining at Little Annies and stay here. Rooms have plenty of storage and are a reasonable size, and have a modern décor (not your typical rocky mountain country style which we seem to encounter everywhere, i.e. no deer antler lamp shades etc =).

They have a free service which keeps your skis overnight on the mountain, or moves them to the next mountain of your choice to save you lugging stuff on the bus.

The included breakfast is very good, as is the free fruit during the day and the free wine, cheese and cookies from 4-6pm in the evenings.

Pool with 2 joining spas are good. Bus top to the other resorts is a 40 meter walk (on the same block) or the transport center is just across the park.

If you can, get a room that faces the mountain or park (or just say you don’t want to overlook the pool) as we got woken by a garbage truck next door a couple of times early (6.30am) in the morning.

The hotel is a good temperature unlike most we have encountered, so you can get from your room to outside in your ski gear without working up a sweat.

Tip: if you buy a multi day pass and don’t use up all of your days, you can save this day for the next season or spend it in their sports store.
Tip:
Be careful flying into Aspen in the winter as the airport is closed half of the time. The locals apparently fly into Eagle up the road. You can then take colorado mountain express van from there to Aspen

This was my second stay at the Limelight, and each time it just seems to get better.
The rooms are very comfortable-- I was in a Deluxe King, which had a very nice fireplace and large marble bath. It was clean and well-decorated. The location is so great, because it is walking distance from the best restaurants in the area. And also so close to the city bus shuttle between Aspen and Snowmass. But the thing I am MOST impressed with at the Limelight, and that keeps me coming back is the STAFF. Peter at the front desk-- so helpful, Brad the manager who really CARES how your stay is going, and Eva, who is so helpful and charming. She always comes over to say hello at Happy Hour, where wine and cheese is served every evening-- nice touch as well. I travel alone frequently, and it especially means alot to me to feel comfortable. THE STAFF CAN MAKE OR BREAK A TRIP!!!! With this staff, I will always come back!
