I'm fairly picky about where I stay and I like boutique hotels. The Limelight ranks right up there. First of all, the location is perfect. It's in downtown Aspen right in the mix of things and within easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, grocery store, bus stop, etc. There's a big park across the street if you want to lounge around or have a place for kids to play.

The interior of the hotel is really cool and the rooms are top notch. We booked a King Terrace room and the terrace was HUGE. On the terrace was a large wicker couch and separate table and chairs. A great place for cocktails or to chill out. The breakfast that's included is quite large and the food quality is really good. If you bring your bicycle, they also have a dedicated and locked bike room with a bike stand and any tools you might need. A nice touch. The large lounge on the first floor is very large with a nice fireplace and lots of comfy furniture.

If you want to go to Maroon Bells, the bus stop is right across the park and comes every 20 minutes. The hotel staff has been trained well. They go out of their way to make things smooth. Our two week vacation to Europe next summer just got moved Aspen and we'll be very comfortable staying right here.

Room Tip: The rooms that come with terraces are fantastic

We stayed at the Limelight for the second time in a row--each time during the music festival--and we plan to return again next summer. Each time, we stayed for at least a week. Good food, a marvelous location, and a friendly, helpful staff. We couldn't ask for more.

Room Tip: Rooms facing north get the least sunlight. Fly in and out of Aspen in the morning, to minimize the c...

Our family just spent 4 glorious days in Aspen. The Limelight hotel was a wonderful place to stay - the hotel was meticulously maintained, with modern décor and well-appointed rooms (nice linens, towels). The staff was uniformly professional, pleasant, and helpful. The breakfast buffet included excellent yogurt, granola, fresh fruit, muffins, donuts, bagels, excellent coffee, as well as a different hot item each day (waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage) The hotel had 6 cruiser bikes on loan, which were adequate for biking on the Rio Grande Trail and Independence Pass. The lobby has a beautiful fireplace where our family enjoyed playing chess and Jenga. The location is perfect - right across from Wagner Park, where the kids can run across the lawn or play in the playground. It is also 2 blocks from the pedestrian mall in Aspen where there are many shops and restaurants. We can't wait to return to the Limelight again!!

We highly recommend The Limelight Hotel. Everything about it made for a perfect ski vacation - location right in the middle of Aspen (great dining and shopping within a few blocks), beautiful rooms with all the extras (our room had a Keurig coffee maker, marble bath, fireplace, view overlooking the park), great breakfast, amazing pool and spa, and exceptional staff. And did I mention the ski valet and shuttle? The Limelight management has thought of everything.

This is a nice size hotel, but with an intimate feel. The staff, from the front desk, to the staff at the bar/restaurant were all very hospitable.
The rooms were large & comfortable. The pool was very nice. Happy hour was great. Breakfast (included) had many options from healthy to indulgent; and there were cold cuts and cheese for making sandwiches to take hiking.
The location was perfect. An easy walk to stroll around town or to the gondola up the mountain.
There is a parking garage ($15/day), but the desk will give you a pass for $5 so that you can park on the street in specially marked spaces. You may have to walk a block or so, but you can drop you bags off at the door and do an easy walk in just a few minutes.

Cannot beat the location. Breakfast is fantastic and staff is very willing to meet special dietary needs. Pool and hot tubs rank in the top two of all hotels I've experienced. Bar and food service is great inside and out. Two sinks in the bathroom!!! Cruiser bikes available for free. You must get a s'more kit for a late night snack in front of one of the many fires. Internet service is great with plenty of tables, bars, and loungers to catch up on news or work on your iPad/laptop. The BEST and most UNIQUE service ------ the small round suction cup garage door opener given to you for $15/day allowing you to come and go as you please with a guaranteed parking spot under the hotel. Pulling up to the large glass garage door and pushing your opener gives you the feel of having your own Aspen property with private parking.
