Aspen natives here and we discovered this wonderful tavern and can't get enough! The food has yet to disappoint and the service is friendly, knowledgable, and overall exceptional! Just what Aspen needed.

Small, quiet and the best food in town. Fish sandwich is awesome, as is the roasted chicken salad.
Sit at the bar if need be, as no reservations are taken. Maybe the best bourbon Manhattan I've ever had.....

This little restaurant in downtown Aspen has great ambience with warm natural wood walls and a fireplace. The limited menu was really good. We had french dip and grouper sandwiches and a great salad with dates goat cheese and corn bread croutons.

this is a tiny but better version of the houston/hillstone chain. amazing renovation of an antique victorian home downtown... we loved the kale salad and had most everything on the menu but without the bread... great food and excellent service.

We dined here for lunch on a snowing Aspen day in January, whilst having a break from skiing to rest the legs, and we were not disappointed. The place is quite small and has a lodge/tavern feel with a cathedral style ceiling and an 'interesting' Chandelier in the centre of the room. It was bustling with people - surprisingly there appeard to be few restaurants open for lunch and The White House Tavern was benefiting from this. We sat at the bar and ordered the Cheese Burger which was delicious and The French Dip Beef Sandwich was a stand out with the meat Jus and Horseradish diping sauces rounding the dish beautifully. A bottle of Californian Pinot Noir complemented the dishes quite nicely.
A fun environment that apears popular with both locals and tourists.
