My two best friends and I ate at Cache Cache tonight for our birthday dinner. A good friend and restaurant owner in Boulder recommended we come here while we were are in town visiting knowing we wanted a special place to celebrate. Our waiters were lovely-Vicente and Manuel (especially Manuel!). However, our initial conversation with the hostess while making reservations should have forewarned us of our night to come. She was abrupt and borderline rude. We ordered cocktails, appetizers, main course, dessert and an after dinner drink. Without us asking, the check was plopped down on our table and 2 people came to see whether we had paid or not within 30 seconds of receiving the bill. I paid the bill and within a minute another host interrupted our conversation and asked us to give up our table so that they could seat their next guests. He offered to buy us a drink at the bar and we got up and said sure! He lead us to the end of the bar where the bartender made no eye contact and told the host that he could not help us, he already had too much to remember. No sorry...no give me 5 minutes...nothing-and the host walked off. We walked out and the host made no attempt to say goodnight, sorry for the poor service, nothing. Now about the food-we ordered the king crab appetizer. Tasty but miniscule. We also had the pasta appetizer with fresh peas. It needed salt and pepper to have any taste. All I tasted was pea. We also ordered the rotisserie chicken and pommes frites. It was fine but nothing special. Clearly, customer service is not a priority here and if you are looking for a young, hip place in Aspen to enjoy a night out, please look elsewhere. We gave it 3 stars for our waiters-they were the only positive.
