“Love this place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2007

I have dined at Pine Creek Cookhouse many times in the past 10 years, and it has always been exceptional. One of my favorite restaurants in the Aspen area. Go for a hike in the Ashcroft area, then hit Pine Creek Cookhouse for lunch. Nothing better!

“Make a night of this in Aspen”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2007

This was a wonderful treat and I want to do this again with my kids when they are a few years older. You can only access this place by sleigh ride or cross country skiing. Everyone here was so nice and full of personality. The food and service was exceptional. A few tips....Do not make plans for after...we had concert tickets for 10:30pm and it made our experience feel a bit rushed.(the staff was super helpful though, making sure we made it down in time)...Also it is cold on the sleigh though you do have blankets. You should dress warm and wear practical shoes. Book yourself a round trip car service or Taxi to get there. The sleigh ride was so beautiful and the restaurant is exactly as I imagined it.

“So-so food, great sleigh ride, very expensive”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2006

Being an Aspen local, I had to respond to these reviews of the Pine Creek. The average price of $35 is something I've never seen - maybe lunch ? here's my take on the good and bad.

Good: location, location, location. Fabulous setting completely unmatched. The sleigh ride in the Winter is forever memorable on a clear starry winter night. The log structure is nice too...we miss the old one that burned down.

Bad: price price price. Dinner & sleigh ride is $90 - before tax, tip and wine. Plan on $250/300 a couple in the Winter. The food is good - not great like some of the restaurants in town...but you go here for the setting and experience.

TIP: do the hiker's lunch buffet in the Summer. Reservations are a must. Despite the negatives, if you can afford it - it's on the top 10 gotta do when vacationing in Aspen.

“The BEST dining experience in Aspen!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2006

This is a one-of-a-kind experience. Snowshoe, cross country ski, or take the horse drawn sled under the stars up to the restaurant secluded deep within the Rocky mtns. During the summer, you may drive directly up to the restaurant. Lots of game available on the menu, and everything is cooked and prepared to perfection. I live in Aspen, and this is by far my favorite place to eat. The mountain lodge feel of the building, the seclusion of the property, the unique horse drawn sled, and the fantastic food make this worth the trip!
