We found Kenichi terribly overpriced, the food average and the portions so small that we left a lot poorer and still hungry, so we went back to our hotel and ordered a pizza for our second dinner. If you want sushi try Takah Sushi. If you want high end Japanese, try Matsuhisa. Take a pass on Kenichi.

Kenichi was off to a good start. Good atmosphere, great appetizer (fried calamari), but it went downhill when the sushi came. We ordered three different rolls, and I was disapointed immediately once they came to the table. Sure they were 8 pieces, but they were very small pieces. They flavor was average at best, and I would expect much more then they were about $14 per roll. What really annoyed me was the shrimp tempura. I had pieces of shell in 3 of the rolls! (Not including the end pieces with the tail) THankfully the waiter took this off the bill when I complained. I definately expected better sushi in Aspen.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel, and it had a great vibe. The decor is modern and urban, and it looked and felt like a cool place to meet friends for a cocktail. We sat in the bar and had a drink and then ended up getting our food to go-they had a great appetizer menu and a large entree and sushi menu, so lots of options for different tastes. The best thing we had was the chicken yaki soba-super good. Everything else was average, but it was a fun place.
