Description: Since 1997, Jimmy's has been Aspen's neighborhood restaurant and bar, the kind of comfortable restaurant where you can dine again and again. Ask any local, and you will hear that Jimmy's is an "Aspen Institution." The menu has something for everyone, from the fresh-squeezed margaritas and the "locally-priced" bar menu to the famous crab cakes, USDA prime steaks, and fresh fish. "The menu is designed to feature the finest in American cuisine without being pretentious, served in an energetic atmosphere," says proprietor (and local) Jimmy Yeager. The energy at Jimmy's is what really draws a crowd; the bar is nearly always jam-packed and the dining room lively with activity and a mix of interesting people. The welcoming staff provide the best in top-notch hospitality. Jimmy's is "home" for a large community of locals and tourists alike.

Jimmy has found the secret to survival in this town. Consistently good food paired with good service. The Mad Dog Ranch salad is a must. The trout is the best in Colorado. The Ciopino is good, but I dont like the added fresh raw cherry tomatoes, and Arugula. If you move that mistake, I recommend it.

We had dinner here and it was great. We also had lunch at Jimmy's Bodega and loved it! I can't find that place listed separately at Trip Advisor so will review it here as well. The crab cake at Bodega was huge, fresh and almost 100% crabmeat, not lots of breading as in other restaurants. I had the Ecuadorian ceviche and it was delicious! The have ceviches made 4 different ways. The wait staff was very friendly.

We had dinner here without a reservation, and to sit outside we waited about 30 minutes. It must have taken the waitress 15 min to visit us and the whole experience was A long tortuous wait for everything else. A couple next to us asked to move inside because the service was non existent. Than the server showed up. A third couple we never noticed- till the guy started swearing at the server about the food and service at least made us feel it wasn't us being singled out. The server made all kinds of excuses when really a manager should have come out. Needless to say as we all watched this unfold, no one came out to apologize. We never saw a manager who should have done something for the guests who had to watch this sideshow. So, our over priced, late , not very good meal was further ruined by the terrible customer service. Yes, this place has been around a long time but so has excellent customer service. And there is a lot of competition in Aspen. No one should take customers for granted.

Don't pass up the buffalo burger! We knew what to order when the table next to us had their food delivered. It smelled delicious. It was delicious! The accompanying fries were perfection. They were hot and crispy with just the perfect touch of salt.

Had the lobster mac and cheese appetizer plus the crabcake app. Both were excellent. Sat on the outside covered long deck. Was a tight space but very nice with the heaters above us. Excellent servers. Great cocktail list.
