Description: Since 1997, Jimmy's has been Aspen's neighborhood restaurant and bar, the kind of comfortable restaurant where you can dine again and again. Ask any local, and you will hear that Jimmy's is an "Aspen Institution." The menu has something for everyone, from the fresh-squeezed margaritas and the "locally-priced" bar menu to the famous crab cakes, USDA prime steaks, and fresh fish. "The menu is designed to feature the finest in American cuisine without being pretentious, served in an energetic atmosphere," says proprietor (and local) Jimmy Yeager. The energy at Jimmy's is what really draws a crowd; the bar is nearly always jam-packed and the dining room lively with activity and a mix of interesting people. The welcoming staff provide the best in top-notch hospitality. Jimmy's is "home" for a large community of locals and tourists alike.

The bar at Jimmy's is the place to be on any night of the week. It's gets crazy busy but the buzz in the room and the tequila/mescal selection is outstanding. Food is very good, but selection are fairly basic. Still, overall, the place to be. And, whatever you do, don't miss Salsa night in the restaurant!!!

We ate outside on the deck facing the street on a nice summer evening (the restaurant is on the 2nd floor). The ribeye was delicious (and huge!) The crab cakes were very good. The sides (mashed potatoes, veggies, rice and slaw) were all good. Warm soft bread sticks were served with mustard, a nice change. Service was good.

I love this place very good vibes and great atmosphere! They have a bar when you first walk in. Which is always packed! And the dining area is very big. But it does fill up fast!! In the summer they have outside seating. It has to be the bestttt view and seating area of the mountains in Aspen. The food is American style. They have alot of choices. The prices are above average. Great place to go eveybody should go here when they come on vacation!!!

We keep coming back to Jimmy's as it is consistently good. We love a table in front of the window to enjoy the beautiful views at sunset and the fresh air through the open windows. So nice not to dine in A/C. Food is always excellent, service impeccable, and the sommelier knows his wines.

We were seated at a table towards the back of the dining room. There are several tables along a window which can probably be requested. They also had tables outside the bar area, but we are not sure whether those can be reserved. We ordered the flatbread with crab and the spinach artichoke dip with crab. They were brought out quickly after ordering. This was another place that wanted to rush you out the door, even though they had plenty of open tables. Don't order your appetizers and food at the same time, or you won't have enough time to digest your food. Order them each when you are actually ready to eat. Both the appetizers were alright, but not spectacular. They also were not very hot when they were brought out. The pork entree was good, but small. The ribeye was cooked to order, but not very flavorful. Similarly, the wild rice was bland and had absolutely no flavor. The other side of creamed corn was actually not creamy at all. Also, they actually brought out the corn way before the meal. It sat on the table 5 minutes before we returned it to the kitchen and requested it be brought out with the food. Neither of the entrees were hot when they were served either. Maybe it was a bad night, but it was nothing more than average here for food or service.
