“Worth the time”
Reviewed May 31, 2013 via mobile

The ice caves were loaded with water and ice so that was okay to see. It is only a five minute hike from the parking lot to the ice caves.
There are some rocks to climb over, but very easy. Then it is a five minute walk up to see the water cascading down. Beautiful and overall an easy hike. Flat rocks, DO NOT ATTEMPT IF WET, an easy climb overall. There were a few places where I sat down to navigate the rocks but overall an easy short hike.

“there are two trails”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

The regular trail was pretty rugged for me. When we got to the area of the Ice Caves, I gave in and had to go back with my husband. Daughter and family continued on and showed us pictures. My hubby and I then took the trail to the left. LOL In two minutes or less we were at the gorgeous waterfalls and were able to see the rest of the family at the top! They climbed down and joined us at the picnic tables and spent some very peaceful and beautiful time gazing at the scenery. Not to be missed.

“Waterfalls spin your mind with sound and fury”

One of Aspen's great trails, not to be missed, along with Maroon Bells and Roaring Fork walks. Superb big flat rocks, narrows, overhangs, wildlife.

“dont go”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

Do not go to this trail when the snow is still there. It was rating as easy and was very difficult with snow up to my knees and if not in snow you are in swampy water to your ankles. definite mistake at this time of year

“Take the walk”

You will not be sorry when you visit the Grottos Trail. The winding trail and the water are synonmous with a rocky mountain holiday.
