Nice view, peaceful, amazing. Was my first time driving in snow with a midsize car. I don't recommend it if there is too much snow, get a higher car.

This was a beautiful and easy little hike, even though I am completely out of shape.
We took our lawn chairs and wine and decided to stay through sunset at the lake, imagine our surprise when we saw a moose come out from the forest and take a swim across the lake. It was amazing!

Do not visit Aspen without taking the trip out to Maroon Bells. In sunshine and in snow, the views are spectacular

This is one of the most beautiful and breath taking sites I have ever seen! Marron Bells were covered with snow - oh what a sight. We hiked up to Crater Lake - and the view got even more amazing.

If you are going to spend more than 2 days in Vail, make sure you visit Maroon Bells. Other than the fact that it is one of the most photographed mountains of the US, it is just a serenely beautiful place that gives you a sense of peace and wonder. The drive to Maroon bells from Vail may turn you off especially since you would have to cross Independence Pass, but having done it, I can assure you its really not as bad as they make it out to be. You want to make sure you travel to Aspen via Independence pass and return via Copper, that way you will be on the inner side of the road for most of the journey. This is an all day trip. We were there in fall, so within a period of 1 hour, we saw rain, sun and snow! Dress in layers. On the way, grab lunch in Aspen. We ate at La Palapa and just loved it. Do not miss Maroon Bells, truly a fantastic experience. I was told that during summer , you will have to take a bus trip. During fall however, you can drive all the way on the weekdays and just have to take the bus on the weekends.
