It figures I would go to Aspen to learn to ski. The Little Nell arranged a private lesson for me. The instructor was outstanding (and easy on the eye). After four hours, I was able to make it down the bunny slope, fast or slow.

A great mountain to warm up on though there are lots of boarders in the snowboard park which is the same mountain where they hold the X-Games.,

Our grandchildren attended Powder Panders ski school here on this mountain for the 2nd hear running and had a ball. They then got to ski the mountain with their parents which made the holiday extra special for them

There was a sticker on the lift that said "Relax, it's Buttermilk." And I think that sums up the experience pretty well. It's a great place for green or blue skiers and boarders. I recently skied here with 2 tweenagers who wanted to build their confidence boarding, and the runs on the west side were perfect - well groomed, open, very few people, but with a mini terrain park for a little challenge. The black runs on the east side are probably more "blue-black," but they are well groomed and a good challenge for an intermediate skier. It's easy to get to lunch at the Cliffhouse restaurant, which has great views and very good food. Small and relaxed are a big plus, especially when skiing/boarding with kids of different ages and abilities.
