Description: Delicious fare lures locals and visitors up the stairs to this lively, sophisticated-but-casual restaurant and lounge. Chef Matt Zubrod is back in Aspen and heading the kitchen at bb's, where he creates his signature classic cuisine with a twist for lunch and dinner. Bb's dining room offers a warm, contemporary atmosphere. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the second-floor location afford beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and downtown Aspen. Lunch is back at bb's by popular demand! Patrons keep coming back for creative soups and salads, hearty sandwiches and entrees. Weekends bring the added bonus of favorite brunch items. Popular lunch items include the DLT Sandwich (duck bacon, duck confit, lettuce & tomato), Chef's Daily Inspiration Chili, MZ Burger with Onion Jam, Bacon & Gruyere, Pulled Chicken-Cherry Salad, and Kale & Quinoa Caesar. At dinner, small plates and large plates allow diners to choose not only what to eat, but how to dine - to share a variety of small plates or choose a traditional entree. Guests can also take advantage of casual dining in the lounge. Dinner guests enjoy favorites like Lobster Chowder, Tuna Tacos, Kale & Brussels Salad, Ahi Carpaccio, Broken Arrow Ranch Antelope, Brandt Beef Ribeye and Dover Sole Meuniere. Top it off with mouthwatering S'mores or the Colorado Artisan Cheese Plate for dessert. Bb's lounge offers a relaxing vibe, perfect for enjoying a hand-crafted cocktail or glass of wine by the fire. The lounge is an intimate gathering place, with windows overlooking the lights of downtown. Bb's... The place to "b" day and night!

The menu looked very good online but it was poorly executed. Lamb chops had more fat than meat, udon noodles with salmon was drenched in soy sauce so it was very salty, and flat bread pizza was anything but flat-very doughy for flat bread. The super sized shrimp cocktail was over cooked. Not sure if the poor execution was because the waitress forgot to put in our dinner order, which was obvious because everyone who came in after us was eating their main meal while the waitress handed us a dessert menu before our meal arrived. The only thing good that we had was the beet salad.

“Great Apres Ski”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

My girlfriend and I dropped in for a drink and ended up ordering dinner from their bar menu. Their drink specials were great ($3 draught, $5 wine), and the bar menu was pretty good value. (Small Rib Eye $18, Salmon $16).

The service was o.k., and the setting was very comfortable and modern.

Its near Rubey Park, so its a quick walk from the Aspen bus drop off. All in all, you could do a lot worse for a drink after skiing.

“Great lunch with friendly attentive staff.”
Reviewed December 23, 2012

Enjoyed a great lunch with two teenagers upon arrival to aspen . Immediate seating with very friendly service from hostess to our servers. We enjoyed the ahi wrap which was delicious as well as beet salad and hummus appetizer. Geek salad was just ok. We will definitely return another time this trip.

“Food ok, service ok”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

Nothing to write home about. Food ok, service ok, views pretty nice if you're sitting outside, but not somewhere I would rush back to.

“Nice little place”
Reviewed November 5, 2012 via mobile

We ate here not knowing if we would really like it or not but nothing else was open on Sunday and in offseason. We saw on line that they had a New York strip with mashed potatoes. Sounds good so we made a reservation. Got there and found out they had a price fix special so we looked at that and the regular menu. The menu didn't have the New York steak. Bummer. But they did have a rib eye with French fries a salad and dessert for $29. Good deal. The waitress had an attitude in her voice which was offending but the owner and male waiter were very polite and caring. It was very sophisticated food. They had pretzels with cherry wine mustard dipping sauce a little to much for our taste. But the salad with little onion rings tomatoes and bacon was awesome. The rib eye was juicy and tender to bad it had a lot of fat on the end. And the flourless cake with strawberries was Soooo gooood. Give this little place a try its worth it.
