I'm afraid of heights but managed the 2.5 mile ride up Aspen Mtn. The gondola cars do sway, especially after they pass a junction on the cable. The wind will make them sway more too but it is very safe. It was windy when we came down due to an approaching rainstorm but it wasn't bad. The view is sooo worth the ride! Hiking and picture taking on top is fabulous!

They allow dogs in gondola and even have gondolas especially for them. Ride was nice but if scared of heights look up not down. At the top there was live bluegrass music you can buy wine beer soda and food. Water was free. Lots of dogs!!! The best part was the Ajax Tavern lunch before the ride, costly but well worth it!

Very few people - spectacular view all around - good restaurant on top. Walked down the Jute Trail to Aspen. Remember to take water, good walking shoes, and a walking stick (the trail is steep, rocky, and narrow in places).
