“Successful remodel with outstanding staff”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

You expect a St. Regis in Aspen to be an excellent hotel; that is a given. My wife and I were visiting over Labor Day as we were taking part in a conference. We used the fitness center, Remede Spa, concierge, Buttermilk Restaurant (lunch, breakfast only; there is another dinner restaurant) and the lobby bar. Each of these facilities met or exceeded our high expectations, though the spa was, in particular, outstanding.

The rooms are well-appointed, although our room was rather on the small side and lacking in storage, despite being told it was a "deluxe" room and an upgrade from what we were originally booked in. This is, overall, a fairly minor quibble, as the quality of the staff and services more than made up for it. We did not encounter a hotel employee who was anything other than at the highest level of excellence in their field; each of the "little things" they did, like printing our boarding passes, finding us taxis, giving us bottles of water, saying hello in the hallways, really added up.

The hotel was recently remodeled and the decor is lovely; "Aspen-like" but understated.

I would unreservedly recommend this hotel.

I use a lot tripadvisor to check reviews and pictures of hotels but never sit down to write a review. Shame on me. But maybe after this one I should start. Well...we booked the St Regis Aspen. Being Platinum on Starwood we have a lot of good perks when staying at Starwood property. We booked a full view of the mountain, the room was beautiful, bed comfortable, fully renovated. Room was a little small but that did not bother us at all. We were on the second floor on the main building and that is the best since you get a balcony with it. Second floor rooms are the only ones with balcony. Rooms are clean, bathroom is a good size. I have just good things to say about the room. I also feel is the best hotel in Aspen.
As i said on the title review, there is a But...Being Platinum members on spg you can choose to get complimentary breakfast so we choose to enjoy the amazing breakfast that we thought we will have from the St. Regis hotel. We were so wrong. They charge $29 for a cheap, not fresh "continental" breakfast. With bread, yogurt, some fruits, tea, coffee, juice and few other things. Eggs or nothing hot was included you had to pay extra for it. You can get better breakfast in a Hampton inn that is complimentary for everyone then at the St Regis in Aspen. The restaurant is beautiful and big but there was very few diners, now we understand why the restaurant was empty. We had amazing dining experience in Aspen this experience just ruined it.

Room Tip: 2nd floor main building

St. Regis Aspen is the perfect location and the perfect hotel. The views of Aspen Mountain are incredible, and the location is within steps of restaurants, shops, trails and the gondola. Service was very considerate and genuine. We plan to return.

Room Tip: Ask for views of Aspen Mountain.

We stayed at the St. Regis over Labor Day weekend.

The rooms were updated and gorgeous. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful if we needed anything.

My highlight was the turndown service, returning to our room after a long day of adventures to find water, chocolates and soft music playing. Just a nice touch after a long fun day.

I will say I have read some of the negative reviews and cannot understand how nit picky folks can be. I rode in the elevator with some couples who complained that the butler service took too long (5 minutes) to bring coffee in the morning and they complained there paper was a few minutes late. To those I think do we not have something better to do than complain or hop in the elevator and go grab your own coffee out of the lobby.

The hotel is in a great location. Easy walking distance to all the sights downtown.

I'd stay again for sure.

Was very excited to book this on a special conference rate... but service was worse than a 2-star. Worst of several offenses was the wedding they had from 5-10:30PM one evening in the courtyard which our room overlooked. It was literally as if our room was on the dance floor... stunningly loud and a real frustration. No way to take a nap, watch TV or anything else... the music was so loud could not even hear ourselves talk. From the St Regis would have expected so much more. Ended up leaving and going to another hotel. It was that ridiculous.

Room Tip: Avoid overlooking the courtyard if there is a wedding... it was incredibly bad.

The recently renovated St. Regis Aspen looks amazing! It really didn't need a "makeover" but they pulled out all the stops. The new rooms are gorgeous, and the Chefs Club by FOOD & WINE is without equal. The public areas are inviting and a perfect place to spend time with friends. The staff is so accommodating and gracious.

The hotel is beautiful.
The location is perfect, right in town at the base of Aspen Mountain.
The room was spacious with an excellent view.
The bed was comfy.
But what made our stay exceptional was the way we were treated by the staff....
We particularly appreciated Miguel, the front desk manager, whose attention and assistance played a significant role in making us feel so welcomed.
Tracy from room service was absolutely accommodating and helpful, and she made the best cappuccinos!
And we adored Alex at transportation (bell desk) who had such an engaging and dynamic personality that he made us smile and laugh every time we saw him!
Staying at the St. Regis made this trip a memorable one; and we will certainly be returning next summer!

Room Tip: Our room was on the 4th floor overlooking Aspen Mountain, and it was perfect for us.
